As many of you know I put in alot of hard work at another site name sportscardsheriff but I have been suspened. The reason for being suspened is because there was a post there I saw no reason that should be closed. I was left with the ability to open a post back up so I did so to let people read a members last post.

After all the hard work I did, all the contest I ran and all the money I was out helping the site I was suspened with no warrning or anything. Goes to show what hard work does for you.

I still had two on going trades there with cards lost in the mail so I do not know if I will be able to clear them up or not.

The reason for this post is to let everyone know I will not be doing any more trading on SCS so if your sending me PM's over there I will not receive them.

I am very happy to be on the Sports Trader Central team and working with all the team members here so its not a big loss to me on the suspension. I have great things about to happen here on STC and I look forward to helping everyone on here. The fun stuff on here is about to happen so tell your friends to get signed up!

There is a reason I am on the admin team here, not only to help all the great traders but to work on the best trading site online! I look forward to building up more trades on here than anyone else so lets get it started!

Sorry to hear what happened. :sorry: It seems like there is no ryhme or reason for some of the things that have happened. If something isn't liked, you're deleted and gone. Sorry to hear it happened to you too buddy.

Not sure if I can help you out or not. but if you need somebody to help you with contacting members you have trades with there so that they do not think you are a bad trader, I will try and help you out however I can. I can only hope that there will be no problems with your trades, after all you were a Gold Elite member, sheesh.

I am truly saddened with what is happening as I know you poured your heart and soul into that site, as did many of us as well for several years. Hopefully, time will heal all wounds and we can all just get along. Until that day comes... just know... we are ALL here to work with you, trade with you and help this site grow with the hobby and it IS the best there is!!!

Yes, this is yet one of many sad bannings at SCS. If you anger the SCS Gods you get banned even if you have not broken a rule. Hey I got banned for starting STC and I was the #2 guy at SCS!

Rick, the good news is your work will go uninterrupted here! With Press Pass moving their sponsorship with you and the race team moving over as well this racing forum is by far the best race forum on the internet. I know you and the rest of the race team will perform like all-stars here and race members will have to have a great place to call home.

Man - that really truly does suck. I saw what they did to one of Alex's posts and I felt that was wrong. Then I saw they further edited that post and removed any evidence of Alex and Erik ever posting there. That was about enough to make me dump the site and run (I've heard how the Beckett site kind of became that way). Now this has cemented in my mind what must be done for me - settle up my last few trades and depart. It is a shame - I had a lot of fun over there - loads of trades - I think at least four with you and you were easily one of the most courteous traders to deal with and this suspension is completely unwarranted. This site rocks - and thanks for coming here - you and all the moderators here rock out loud in my opinion. I don't think a better staff could have been put together than the one we have now. Same thing happened to me, b/c I mentioned in a post how I felt about what was happening at SCS. I got the same "you know better" e-mail, and that was that....oh well. Glad there's STC!!!

Sorry to hear it, bud. I hope you can still get those trades resolved somehow. It's amazing how they love to use that "ban" button on people who invested so much into the site as you and others have. I still call them the SCS SS. It's more like the Nazi SS over there now.

But, STC is the place to be! I know everyone on the racing team here will strive to make this place so much better that you'll forget about SCS altogether.

That sure stinks! In the real world after all your hard work they would have contacted you 1st to find out why you changed the status of a post. Bottom line it probably wasn't the change but the fact you are here! We love you & appreciate you so forget about those other guys!! I know easier said than done but try not to let it bother you.

This is a much better forum with truly awesome management, members and functions. Between here, N.U.T.S. and a NASCAR discussion forum I belong to I have no time for SCS any more.

Leaving former moderators with moderating abilities like pinning and unpinning, then banning them for using it makes no sense to me at all. You give people new to SCS warnings, but guys that busted their humps a ban without warning sounds fishy to me. If it wasn't for Rick and the Race team, that SCS race forum would look like the SCS Boxing forum with about 100 posts.

Also, banning someone with pending trades and expecting them to just deal with it stinks. I suggest letting this thread run its course. People paid anywhere from $100 (Charter memberships) to $15,000 in supporting SCS and are now banned for small infractions or not breaking a single rule. New members get more respect.

Mike, please post the rule that I broke here because I am curious to know what rule I broke besides starting a website. I was the #2 guy and know all the rules there. I won't hold my breath waiting for the rule to be posted.

Todd, I never once had anything bad to say about anyone on the Racing team. Fact is I would have much rather had you, Ryan and Brian stay on the Racing team with us over here. But I never got a reply from the three of you when I sent out messages on what I would be doing. So sorry about that, you are all doing what you can but for me it was time to start at a new site. The reasons why are way to long to list or talk about but I will say I needed better support from above not from my team. I have always had great people working with me on the Racing team and you guys were a part of that. Anyone telling you its your fault is wrong, trust me I still consider you guys great people and great traders.

This thread was not ment to be a bashing on SCS, just trying to let people know that I would not be able to trade on there and why. I was always proud of the trades I did on there, I left that site with over 600 feedback (if the system was working) so that should show something....

Rick I never got a PM or anything from you about you leaving...To be honest when my computer was down I didn't even know alex was off the team then you said you was thinking of leaving in the Post I told you i hated to see you leave that you and everybody has helped me alot since i been there and as a cadet then next thing i know it's just me Ryan and Brian ....

Fact is I heard a nasty thing going around that I had said something about the Racing Team not too long ago. And I do think I know who started it. Since I have an idea of who started it I had no reason to even say anything because I feel you guys on the Racing Team know better and you would have had to look at the guy that said it to you.

Also sorry to hear you did not get the PM from me, I did not hear back from the three of you and it was sent at the same time. I really thought you guys might have had something against me leaving so I left it alone. I for one have never been banned at Beckett.com, just at SCS (I think the warrning system must have been down at SCS because I did not even get a warrning)....

Anyway I say lets just get back to trading, more than happy to try and get something going with you....but it will have to be over here...

This is not a SCS bashing thread. Randall said people get banned at SCS for breaking rules. Well, I know of several traders that have been banned and broke no rules. Also, by banning people with open trades, you are forcing people to communicate through other channels, thus this thread. Also, SCS might want to look at what members have moderating powers. This is like giving a member 500 PM on STC by mistake and then banning him for going over his 50 PM limit. Can you blame a member for using options that have been giving to him?

Todd, I don't know you and I am sure you are doing a fine job. Sorry to hear that people are bashing SCS at SCS. I have asked Randall to unban me so I could see for myself and put a stop to any bad posts started by STC staff members. Well, my request was denied. I will not talk to anyone on the STC staff about posting at SCS if I am not aloud to see the posts. I don't take rumors as the truth.

Let's help Rick complete his trades and we can close this thread.

I for one do not wish to bash anyone and hope that someday soon we can all just get along... BUT, I also wish to have a small say here and then I am done with this discussion. My issues with the site are mostly that the leader left us hanging, and the site was not GROWING, or rather it was going backwards without growth!!! I was reading all the comments posted and felt that this may be the time and place to put my feelings into print and be done with this subject once and for all!!! I have NOTHING bad to say about ANY of the members of the SCS Racing Team that decided to remain as Team members and receive promotions there (it would have been nice to hear something from you guys when I first wrote to you. My feelings were a little hurt that with all that we went through together as friends (and a team), no one even took a minute to reply to me). I wish you all the very best and I hope that we will still remain friends and trading partners. This is my first AND last public general post concerning why I decided to leave SCS and bring my case breaks here and make STC my home!!! Most of you also know… I joined an Elite few with around 600 deals on SCS… and yes, I was willing to leave that all behind and start all over again!!! Many of you have been good friends to me and have known me for many years and know that I did not make this decision lightly.<o:p></o:p>

First off... most of my issues were over the lack of respect that was not given to the SCS team members by ‘our leader' (focus). Our feedback system was not working since back in June when we supposedly got hacked (as well as several other features and functions). We received NO answers from the owner of the site on the situation or any answers to give the members who came to the team and asked us. How could the owner expect ‘his’ team to continue to function properly, with no direction or answers to help our members??? I do not know what personal issues he was going through, and personally, that was none of my business if he didn’t wish to share that info with me. It wouldn't have been so bad except that nearly every single day, the ‘owner’s’ ID (focus) was active on the site but did not communicate with the team any information. From June to October, there was not even a couple of minute’s worth of time to post a message to let us know what was going on??? How could we help our members if we had no answers and were left to stand on our own without access to needed files/info to keep the site running and work on a fix to all the things that were not working??? From a personal experience, I was hospitalized for a week with blood clots in my leg & lungs, right in the middle of a crucial point in a case break I was running on SCS. I value the trust and respect that was given to me by EVERY racing forum friend that I have made, and I made it a point to ask for HELP from the Racing Team so that NO ONE involved with my case break was left hanging not knowing what was going on with me and THEIR case break. I am not 100% certain of the date (October 14<SUP>th</SUP> ???), focus made a post to the SCS Team, but did not even offer the slightest of thanks to the team that had tried to hold it all together for so long. Instead, it was stated that he was back and would work on the site and that was it. Sorry… I lost what little respect I had by the time I got to the end of that post.<o:p></o:p>

Sadly, since I joined SCS back in 2003, I did not see the potential growth to the site that we (the team) kept being promised. Actually, there were numerous things that actually stopped working or were not found easily on the site. The site grew in size (even if MANY of the numbers were not active or real members any longer), the money was coming in (sorry, I just do NOT believe what is being said by the owner that the site does NOT make money. I know what the site was capable of now and have started putting two and two together and came up with the site being very profitable, but the rewards were not put back into the site to help it grow, or at least fix what didn’t work). I personally paid for Verification ($5.00), and Charter Membership ($100.00) as well as several other members on the site. There were also those that paid for eBay upgrades for as well. With as many ads as those that were running on the site, they also should be drawing a fair amount of money into the site to help support it. I do not wish to accept that the site does not make money and the upgrades did not come because of that. Facts that have been brought to light now seem to prove otherwise.<o:p></o:p>

Over the past several months, I joined about 20 or so different trading sites just to see what features were available to traders/collectors out there today. While there are not allot of racing trading forums out there, I still joined many of the trading sites just to see what was out there. I found MANY great sites, but none of them had it all. I kept coming back to SCS seeing it as I did many years ago… the BEST!!! I truly believed in the site (and I told Crit and others this over the years), and feel I gave my heart and soul to helping to make racing the best forum on SCS!!! But sadly, I lost respect for the owner, and interest in the site. It hurts me deeply that it came to what it has, but it was time for me to move on.<o:p></o:p>

What I didn’t realize until recently, was that there were SO MANY other members that felt the same way I did, but we didn’t make it openly known to each other. How else could you possibly explain such a LARGE departure from the SCS site of some of the best and most dedicated members/collectors & traders that was looking to have someone with a site that cared so deeply about the hobby… and has backed up their words with ACTIONS to help grow the site!!! I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike and the ENTIRE STC Team to help build this site as a premier place for ALL of my trading friends to enjoy. You ask for help from ANYONE on this team, and you get answers within 24 hours… BUT… usually within minutes to be more accurate!!!<o:p></o:p>

To anyone that is a team member at SCS, you can feel free to share this entire post with focus (I’m fairly sure he will see it anyway). I PM’d him when I resigned from the team and he replied to me saying that he wished I would have contacted him first before resigning (hummm to someone that wasn’t answering ANYBODY at the site???). I then replied to his PM and received no response back from him. The only thing I have seen change for me specifically was that the unread PM’s that I sent him asking for help for a member and his password (back in June/July) were never read, but they have now mysteriously disappeared from my PM box AFTER I stated to him that they were still unread in my reply. <o:p></o:p>

I am “assuming” I will get banned from SCS for the comments I make here, but I honestly hope that won’t be the case. I guess if it happens, I won’t see my $100.00 for my Charter Membership returned either??? That program and all it’s information seems to have been deleted from the files at SCS recently, I guess so that no one can ask questions about it. Truly a sad state of affairs and I am truly disappointed with the direction the site is going in now with the ban first, talk to the member later attitude!!! All I have ever heard from Crit was that we (SCS) was all about second chances for everyone. I think you feel like many past mod's from SCS. Many feel like you do and that is why they left as they did not get credit for the work and time they put into helping SCS be the best site out there.

Now on another note if you would have looked at the Alexa rankings of SCS the growth was there and there were 1000's of active members not all 9000 but perhaps a 1/4 but still that tremendous. As SCS in its heyday could rival Beckett and did. Any other site out there was left in the dust.

We just need to let people like Todd do their best at SCS and others build the site to the best of their ability. I always wished sites would join together but there a thing called EGO's and they exist everywhere. So sites joining as many OWNERS speak of will never happen.

Just do your best at SCS and there should be no bashing of the site (by mod's). Most of the anger is funneled at the head. You just have to understand how they feel and keep your friendship as you said as well as them vice versa. There is a mess and that will probably never go away but if you and they are bigger than that then that issue will never pose a problem. Of course you have to be willing to over look that.

When you mention about breaking rules and quote (NO BETTER). I think all parties are guilty and that include me as I broke some and I can live with that if you want to get technical.

But remember to look at yourself first when you tell STC 'TO BAN A MEMBER' or possibly get into a flaming words with Nadeau Johnson (SP) as you know better (RIGHT). Of course we didn't ban you but I am sure the subject was mentioned. So let not quote rules when you don't follow them either 100 percent of the time.

I'm like Les, I have just one thing to air out andf I'll be done. Randall is talking about us bashing other sites here. I myself have not seen any of it going on in the racing forum. In open forum. The other forums I couldn't tell you about because I don't usually venture into the unknown. So for Mike to openlly come in here and attack us is just showing his cynical ways of his mind set. His gestapo ways have been seen all over the boards on SCS. He's done more bashing of the past MODS in the forums their its disgusting. Like I siad I don't venture oput of my forum much so I don't know how mods controlled their own forums, but to have Mike come out when talking about buying and selling in the past and to say that the racing and hockey forums were led by dictatorships, he needs to get his facts in line before mentioning anything to that aspect. The only rule we enforced was in the buy/sell forum and that was we did not allow any mention of trading in those posts. But I guess when the culptrite wanted to disregard that, to him I guess that would be what it is.

Everything over there that we the past mods have done has been erased so like we didn't even exist at anytime there. My quick fix to feedback was gone very very shortly after I announced my retirement and until I raised a fit and found it in the trash bin was it reinstated. Of course there is 10-20 or so posts to it with the members adding their trades and I can't do anything with it anymore, I asked for a team member to take it over with no reply to it. For it to disappear in the first place showed what they think.

I found a new home here that has the respect of all members, from the #1- Mike all the way to the newest member with just 1 post. Where else can one find the pekrs that this great site offers. Where else can you go and have the opputunity to have a semblance of a website for free. Your member pages are ment just for that. Remember that you can put anything that you want in those pages. To be able to play arcade games while waiting for a reply to a PM or post, this without even leaving the site, opening a new window, I mean what better site is there.

If what Todd says true that people are bashing SCS and they are mod's here we need to address it (Simple as that). OF course that up to you but if you truly want to show the upper hand you need to put a stop to that. That just my two cents.


Don, I will not address any issues in the team forum that I do not have the permissions to see. I will not accuse any racing team members of anything that SCS staff point out to me, when that staff will not give me permissions to view the subject matter. I don't operate of hearsay!

Wrong! I do not give orders here. Our team forum is run much differently. The team comes up with ideas and I implement them. There has been several instances where I have had team members come up with better ideas and override my initial ideas. In most cases STC team members have veto power over many decisions. Each Team Manager runs their area the way they see fit. I do not micromanage and all team members get a say, majority rules. If there are are problems I discuss them with the team member and we come up with a solution together. STC is being built by 20+ mods and 500 members, not by me. I just provide the tools!
