Im looking to buy this Bobby Labonte card for my uncle for christmas. Its a 2004 gear grippers signature series card but the guy says it isnt numbered and beckett and press pass dont have the card on any of their lists. Any insight would help me out greatly.

I see nothing on beckett.com or in the big beckett that says any Bobby Labonte was in there. I would ask him for a scan of the front and back before I went any further. If you can get a scan post it up here and lets try to help you out more there...

If my memory serves me right, one of these was on ebay a while back. I think they werent inserted into the orginal release and none of them are numbered.

According to our records it looks like the 2004 Bobby Labonte Sig Series Gear Grippers came back to us late from Bobby and were subsequently inserted in the October 2005 memorabilia/autograph box $19.99 blasters. They should have been numbered out of 18 but went into the product un-numbered. Re. the last name missing on the front of the card, it is probably there. It was stamped in holofoil which sometimes does not show up on scans. I would have the buyer double check with the seller.<o:p></o:p>

Yup, Same deal. I can't remember if it was Legends or the Holiday Boxes, but they weren't numbered either. I think Dave pulled one.

Holiday boxes, I remember Dave pulling that. I started worrying about the 05 Trackside Pitstopper Sig Series that Mikey was supposed to have and never showed. Somewhere, there is a warehouse full of cards that never got released, wish I had the key.
