Hey guys, I am just showing this off as I have no clue what it may book for. I traded for 20+ Japanese packs of cards about 3-4 years ago and this happened to be in the pile from those packs. Thought it was pretty cool and would show it off.

Thanks! I originally traded for the packs in pursuit of a Matsui and never pulled one. I just got the nerve to thumb through them today and found this one. I was pretty surprised.

Rounded corners! That better not be a base card! lol
It is really cool that you just rediscovered this card, if he is at all worth what was payed for him, it should be worth a pretty penny. You might want to try and sell it now to a Sox fan or a Japanese person... or better yet, a Japanese Sox fan incase he flops here in the MLB.
Nice pull... or re-pull... or whatever. ;)

Yeah, the corners are round. I am thining that they a collector card as well as a card game in Japan. In any amount, I was happy to find it. Trust me, for the right price I would sell it. I just don't know if it would fetch anything special on ebay. I will probably wait to see if his stuff heats up or if he plays well.

Very cool! Did you check for any of the other Japanese players that have landed on MLB teams? Yankees, Red Sox reliever, Tampa Bay.

If I had a list, I could do so. I just remember Matsuzaka because it was the big number.

Here are the ones I remember signing with Major League teams this winter.
Hideki Okajima (relief pitcher) - Boston Red Sox
Akinori Iwamura (third baseman/infielder) - Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Kei Igawa (pitcher) - New York Yankees

I found one of this guy.
Akinori Iwamura
If I get a chance, I will put a scan up. The other guy may have not played in Japan until after 2000 which would explain why I don't have it but I do not know.
