View Full Version : Jeff Gordon '96 Viper 1st Strike - Black Face
deerekrazy 01-29-2007, 09:13 AM Hi, I have a question, if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. I aquired a set of '96 Viper 1st Strike cards for the Chad Little, plan to sell the rest. While I was going through the cards, I noticed that the viper on the upper left of the card had a black face on the #42 Jeff Gordon card, while all of the other cards in the set have silver faces. It doesn't have "Black Mamba" written on it, and the card isn't ser. #'d, so I'm just wondering if it's common to this particular card. Thanks in advance, hope to hear from someone, Kevin
24twofor24 01-29-2007, 03:51 PM I just looked at the #42 1st strike that I had, and the head is silver. There are no markings on it?? Maybe a picture or scan of the front and back would help someone. I have never heard of this before though.

deerekrazy 01-31-2007, 09:51 AM Thanks to all who have responded to my post, and thanks for the offers, I'll be selling it as soon as I find out more about it, it doe's seem to be a real strange one. I haven't included a scan of the card's back, as it is identical to the other 2 Gordon cards in the set (except for the card number, of course.) Doe's anyone know anything more about this card? Thanks, Kevin

Your best bet would be to post your question with the scan in the STC Racing Card Help Center!

One of the card "experts" might be able to help you out

Yep, I have a couple of Gordon's Viper cards missing the silver foil that are not black mamba's. I'm glad this question was asked as I have wondered about the same thing. Thanks for the info.
