Hey guys and gals,

Once everyone busts their box(es) of 2007 Press Pass Premium, could you please make a nice, orderly post showing what you got out of your boxes. Also, if possible, provide a scan of the best card you pulled? If you need help posting scans, PM anyone on the STC Racing team and we will try to help. Also please make sure to put how you felt about this product, quality of cards, pull ratios, looks, etc., good or bad post it and be honest.

When reviewing a product that you have personally opened, try to include....

**The name, brand, and year of the product
**Listed inserts and odds of pulling
**Number of packs per box and number of cards per pack
**Your assessment of how your actual pulls were versus how the odds say you should have pulled
**Also note if you were able to complete a base or insert set or how close you got to a complete set
**Your opinion of the quality of cards, quality of packaging, collation, etc, etc, anything a collector would be interested in before investing in this product

Thanks for your input!!

Thanks
STC Racing Team

Also please keep this to the posting of your breaks only. Any trading, please take it to reg. post or to PM's.

Thank you

Thoughts on the cards? Reactions? We love to see what you pulled, but let's hear what you think of the cards. Pull ratios, look of the cards (base, inserts, autos, raceused). What did you like? What didn't you like? Your imput is very important and is actually read by Press Pass.

here is my box breakdown:

one full set, one full daytona dominators set, two fan favorites, but NO rookies!!! I had 14 doubles as well. There was seven dinged up cards as well.

inserts:

1 0 card
2 concrete chaos--Martin, Stewart
4 perfromnce driven--Ku. Busch, Jarrett, Gordon, Waltrip

and now for the goodies:

Scott Riggs gold signings 31/50
Jimmie johnson firesuit 145/145

at least that soothes somewhat the lack of the rookie...

Trhe design of the cards was good, but way too many damaged cards in the box. thank goodness they were only the base...

overall, I would give it 4.25 out of 5 stars. if I got a rookie, any rookie, it would be 4.5 out of 5 stars.

as for imporovment, I would at least have TWO rookies a box instead of one--not many people can afford eight boxes.

Les know's how much I hate to wait! So I stopped by the Hobby Card shop and Picked up a couple loose packs and Im EXTRMELY GLAD I did.
I do like the way the product looks and is layed out and it looks very clean this yearThe first box I got didnt have an auto in, but the packs did and Im happy I stopped by today.
The first card is a Regan Smith Rookie Debut numbered to only 5.
This one says 5/5 and is card number R89

~~ Too many duplicates in my box, Was not even close to making a complete set, even without the SP's.

~~ I liked the Concrete Chaos & Performance Driven Cards

~~ The ZERO card of Kevin Harvick was a great looking one.

~~ I did not receive a race-used card, Guess that's just my same old luck.

~~ The packaging of the cards was okay with my box, I had NO bent corners.

~~ However, some of the packs had only 4 cards in and others would have 6 cards.

Here are my thoughts on these cards. I like the base card design. They're not too plain and not too overwhelming and have great photos. I like the contrast of the cards with black/white backgrounds and color photo of the driver or car in the foreground. The short prints were designed really well and I think they hit a home run with those. Although I like short prints, I'd rather complete the set and it will be tough with the rookies being a tough pull again this year. I think a 1:10 pack ratio for the ROOKIE SP subset cards would have made me happier. The card stock is high quality. I did not have any problems with card stock quality (dinged corners, miscuts, etc) on the base cards. Over all, I give the base set a 4.75/5

I like the Performance Driven and Concrete Chaos cards. They are both cool, but the Concrete Chaos cards are by far my favorite of the two. The main issue I have with the Performance Driven cards are that several came out of the packs that have some white showing on the corners. Very few came out of the packs in truly mint condition. None of the corners were severely dinged, but they are not truly sharp either. I guess that might be due to the foil coating or handling when they were packaged. I didn't care for the photos on them either with the drivers holding a steering wheel in the air in front of them. Look at Montoyas face on that insert...looks like he doesn't like to smile much...kind of like..."are we done with this photo shoot yet...I need to go eat lunch!" Overall I give the Concrete Chaos insert a 4.5/5 and the Performance Driven cards a 3.5/5.

The Signings cards are so so. It seems to me, the design could have been better thought out. I'm not a card designer or great with graphics, but I feel I even could have come up with a design like that. They just don't thrill me or make me go WOW too much. They weren't all that creative to me and these cards are one of the the top selling points along with the other memorabilia card posibilities in the box. I am happy that at least I hit my pull ratio of 1 per box. I give them a 4/5.

The Hot Threads are neat. Again, I like the black/white background with color foreground on the cards and I like how they kind of resemble the base cards a little. I did better than the stated odds pulling 1 per box, but I'm confused as to why I received a Team Series version Hot Threads Labonte. I thought the Team Series cards went into retail packs. Overall I give these 5/5.

I didn't get any of the rare parallels or Patch cards or Signed memorabilia cards. But, I think the RED parallels are a good idea overall. If your going to make parallel cards, at least make them rare#ed /250 or less. However, it'll be a hard for those collector's who collect a certain driver to get those REDS #/15. I think #ed/50 or #/100 is a happy median for the parallel cards everyone would be happier with. At least you'd have a better shot at getting one of your driver. Some of the patches I've seen up for sale already are awesome...only wish I could have been a lucky one to get one.

Overall, based soley on what I received in my boxes, I'd give this product a 4.25/5

Thanks!

Base: 13 short of a full base set; 14 duplicates

Rookie Card
#84 David Gilliland

2007 PP Stealth Promo P1 Juan Pablo Montoya

Concrete Chaos
CC1 Jeff Gordon

PD3 Dale Earnhardt Jr
PD4 Denny hamlin

Autographs:

Hot Threads = 0

Red Version Numbered = 0

Patch Hot Threads = 0

Overall I liked all of the cards designs. That's about all I liked about it. I didn't like the odds for a Hot Threads and then to top it off no Harvick Hot Threads. Just feel like I threw away my money. Even if I had got my buddy's boxes who pulled a patch card, I am still not pleased with this product and I will probably be the only one out of everyone who was disappointed but if everyone agreed opinions and reviews would be useless : ) I give it a 2.75/5

i want to get the negatives out first! still have not completed a 90 card set out of 10 boxes, i need #88 if anyone has one to trade plmk. i also had alot of damaged cards, but mine were subset. i had some concrete chaos & performance driven rubbed out on the back at spots & a couple corners damaged to the piont of being afraid to sell or trade them. press pass needs to be a little more carefull at the plant.

the design on this was above average & the possible low # cards are a plus. their are some awsome patch cards! the odds were about dead on. i liked the back of the cards that had the teams racing name on the top.

NOBODY WORRY about your boxes!!! I got the sucky one!!!

NOT ONE numbered, autographed or race used. The box did not even have a serial number on the inside. Can you believe that? I know, I know....There are no promises that one will be in the box but it is really disappointing that after not being in a case break for two years that I get nothing interesting. Or at least good trade bait. I stopping doing the case breaks because the last box I got had only ONE insert. That's it, ONE INSERT!!!! The rest were base cards. :confused0024:

Please keep me in mind if you get any numbered Kyle Petty cards. I wish I had something to trade you for it but oh, well........

I will stop whining now :poundcry: and here is the breakdown of what I got. I wonder how I can blame the lame box on Les? Hmmmmmm!!! Just kidding Les. Thanks for everything you do for us. We appreciate it!!!:appl:

In review:
Daytona Dominators & Fan Favorites are OK - but I miss the Champs/Challengers and Premium Choice - the were nicer cards
I like the Concrete Chaos cards - very cool design
I don't like the Performance Driven cards - most of the driver pictures just look "odd"

Now on to my  and this is in no way a reflection on Les who works so hard to get us good deals on case breaks! I've talked to Les and he is calling Press Pas Monday.

#1 No Patch or Sig Series in the factory sealed half case. Sell Sheet said in big bold letters One Patch or Sig in every half case It's the reason I bought a half case!!!

#2 One box had no Signings - this wasn't guaranteed but with 1:20 odds was kinda expected

#3 Two RETAIL versions of Hot Threads in my HOBBY boxes - Press Pass website lists Race-Used Firesuit (Hobby Only) and Race-Used Firesuit (Retail Only)

#4 Damaged cards pulled from the pack - mostly slight corner dings but I have one Performance Driver {PD 7/12} that looks like it got caught in a machine. Just to the left of the Press Pass Premium 07 logo the card is crimped and torn - body of the card is find then straight down on the bottom under the CH of Busch is another crimp.

#5 Way to many duplicates.
Concrete Chaos 1:9 ratio yet I was only able to complete ONE set out of 10 boxes!
I pulled 21 Concrete Chaos cards
CC 1/6 Jeff Gordon x 5
CC 2/6 Dale Earnhardt Jr. x 1
CC 3/6 Jimmie Johnson x 5
CC 4/6 Tony Stewart
CC 5/6 Dale Jarrett x 5
CC 6/6 Mark Martin x 4

Performance Driven 1:5 ratio yet I was only able to complete ONE set out of 10 boxes!
I pulled 39 Performance Driven cards
PD 1/12 Bobby Labonte x 1
PD 2/12 Kasey Kahne x 4
PD 3/12 Dale Earnhardt Jr. x 1
PD 4/12 Denny Hamlin x 1
PD 5/12 Michael Waltrip x 5
PD 6/12 Jimmie Johnson x 3
PD 7/12 Kurt Busch x 3 + 1 BADLY damaged
PD 8/12 Tony Stewart x 4
PD 9/12 Dale Jarrett x 5
PD 10/12 Jeff Gordon x 6
PD 11/12 Mark Martin x 4
PD 12/12 Juan Pablo Montoya x 1

Performance Driven Red - PD 1/12 Bobby Labonte x 2

Signings - Scott Riggs - x 2

Overall I'd give 2007 Press Pass Premium 2 out of 5 stars - the disappointment factor is HUGE! I sincerely doubt I'll be buying any more boxes. The Stealth sell sheet looks awesome - but so did the Premium and I feel to cheated to try again.

6/2/07 I am revising my overall rating of 2007 Press Pass Premium
Thanks to Les laying the ground work with Press Pass Customer Service I got a package from them Thursday 05/31/07 with a Bobby Labonte Sig Series, an awesome Matt Kenseth "patch" that wasn't numbered as a patch & a Hamlin Hot Threads. I kinda regret not getting a Carl Hobby version for the retail I returned but I feel Press Pass totally made good on my half case!

I'm upgrading my rating to 4 out of 5 stars

You can see the cards I got over in this post

I cant get enough of this stuff. I think this has been one of my better draws in awhile and the cards look GREAT this year. I beat the odds and I think I won out on this pull.
Plus Im tapped. So it was a nice way to finish out these.

HI gang, finally got some quiet time to sit and bust my boxes of Premium. Had my son pick the one box I got as an extra. First my thoughts:

Base cards: nice design, like the look similar to VIP with the color /black and white design. Daytona Dominators and Fan Favorite were OK, like the fact there were no die-cuts, but miss the C&Cm, and Premium Choice.

Performance Driven, kinda silly design. If they want a pic with the driver holding the steering wheel, get one from in the car, or maybe in a cut away car for better access/photo angles?

Concrete Chaos, not bad just a different name on the Asphalt Jungle. Looks a bit like the'05 AJ.

Hot Threads, NICE, clean design, doesn't distract from the basis of what the card is about the swatch, and although the swatches remain the same size, they "look" larger.

Signings, good design, nice large area for the drivers to sign, but still with the Legends in all brands? Press Pass needs to limit the Legends to Legends, and 1 or "maybe" 2 other brands. We don't need legends autos in every release

Now, here are my breaks (scans at bottom of post):

Box 1

Base #1-70-complete with 13 doubles

Base Daytona Dominators #71-76-complete

Base Fan Favorites #77-82-2 #78 J. Gordon, #82 Johnson

Base Rookie #83-90-1 #83 A.J. Allmendinger

INSERTS

"0" Zero card- 1

Performance Driven- 4:
4 #3 Jr., #4 Hamlin, #6 Johnson, #11 Martin

Concrete Chaos- 2:
2 #2 Jr., #5 Jarrett

Signings-1
Donnie Allison :tsk: :tsk: :tsk:

My first thought....OH BOY back to my normal luck :frusty:

Box 2

Base #1-70-complete with 13 doubles

Base Daytona Dominators #71-76-complete

Base Fan Favorites- 2 #79 Kahne, #82 Johnson (again)

Base Rookie #83-90- 1 #87 Ragan

INSERTS

"0" Zero card-1

Performance Driven- 4:
4 Hamlin(again), 6 Johnson(again),7 Busch,11 Martin(again)

Performance Driven Red-1
#5 Waltrip 216/250

Concrete Chaos- 2
#3 Johnson, #5 Jarett(again)

Signings- 1
Martin Truex Jr. Bronze :whoo:

Hot Threads Driver- 1
#HTD1 Kasey Kahne red 114/145 :whoo:

Well, that was better than the first box by far, other than the duplicate inserts.

Box 3 (this is the one my son picked out as the "extra" box)

Base #1-70-complete with 13 doubles

Base Daytona Dominators #71-76-complete

Base Fan Favorites #77-82-2 #79 Kahne, #82 Johnson(again)

My Break Down:

Base Set: Sorry but this is one product that I really did like the die cut cards in. I know I am one to say make changes but you can make the die cut changes different and keep them in the set. Always a great looking card to me production wise, thick stock, clean, nice photos. I do like that there are some great Rookie cards in there. As far as being short print I am for it in this set, I am always knowing I will have to trade to complete this set.

Short Prints: I pulled what I was supposed to so I am happy. Like I said above I am for them in PPP.

Concrete Chaos: Nice Card, good pictures and I do like the raised effects.
Performance Driven: Its a nice insert with great pictures but lets name it different or change it somehow.

Autographs: Press Pass Signings look good, I could do without having so many Parallels in this one.

Hot Threads Hobby Driver Series: I like the card, the look is good and the size of the piece is good. Nice Clean card with great Photos.
Promo Cards: Nice to throw them in there, good idea to advertise (glad they are racing this time).

Hot Treads Signature Series: Yes I pulled the Tony Stewart, I do think for a series like this you can use a better swatch on them. I mean they are so hard to pull and everyone wants one so step it up on them. They are a low production run so take your time when they are produced. I do like the set up on the card, swatch, auto and photo look good.

Packing wise it was very strange, I am like others some packs I had missing cards then some had extra. Seemed to come out in the end but get on the packing people. I see several got Retail cards in boxes and that is another packing issue in my opinion.

Price wise I am ok with. I had good boxes so I can not complain. But I have seen others post and something must have went wrong with some boxes. Again I think it can be a packing issue there, someone looks to have droped the ball there.

Last the Patch thing going on, really it did effect the way people bought this product. If you make them believe its a patch in a half case then you need to do that. I understand Press Pass is willing to help and I totally understand the issue with sell sheets being tenative but the Patch issue is past that. Glad to see Press Pass is helping out.

For me this product does get 4 out of 5 stars. I consider myself to have done well with Press Pass Premium....
Thanks,
Rick

PS. I will be getting my trade list up asap so please just go to the trade section for it!!

I got 10 boxes (half case) and did not feel got what was suppose to be in them. I had dropped down to fewer boxes but got more this time with dangling promise of a good goodie in them. Over all, I did ok but had expected more goodies as I refer to them. Was not at all impressed with getting a retail ht in my hobby box...
I will just give a general run down as to what I got as most have already been sold. And really did not write all down as I ususally do. In situation where I needed to do a quick turnover...

Base sets:
2 sets to 82 cards (sold)
6 sets to 76 cards
(that includes the short print dd & ff's)
several dupe base cards, few dupe dd's & ff's
9 rookie cards, some dupes as well. (all are sold)
Did not complete a full base set (was 3 cards short I believe)

Premium driven
2 sets - several dupes
Red premium driven - 5 (sold)

Concrete Chaos
2 sets - several dupes

1 red parallel to /15
denny hamlin 11/15 (sold)

1 red parallel to /5
jr 5/5 (sold)

0 cards - 5

montoya preview - 10

Autograhps 6 total
5 bronze (including 2 janet guthrie)
1 blue richard petty /150 (sold)

hot treads
4 driver series (least I got a jr one for me - all rest sold)
1 team series retail - sorenson listed for sale on the bay as we speak

double burners - 2
johnson 18/100
gordon 96/100
(both currently running on the bay for next weekend)

hot threads patches - 0
signature series ht - 0

The double burners were nice, but expected a sig series ht or patch so was dissapointed there. Thought would get more autos or at least more than one that was #'d. Some boxes were full of #'d ones... All I got was the bronze ones and mostly of legends. One #'d one of petty which was nice. But an unnumbered one would of fetched as much...

I had a few marred cards, dinged corners, ect but not enough to really complain about. Basically just were base cards so no concern on this end over them. But no one likes dinged corners or not nice cards...

I liked the over all design of all of them. Kinda thinish on the autos tho in my opinion. Design gets 4 of 5 stars.

Alot of the pulls were as stated but not all. Especially the goodies. 2 1/2 of 5 stars becuz of the not stated goodie pull odds. Think they could of at least put 2 of the rookie short prints in each box being dd and ff were also on the sp line. Makes it really hard for the common collector to complete their sets.

Retail cards in hobby really sucks! 0 of 5 stars on that account! And did not get much more out of that box. Did not keep boxes or really keep track but think got a rookie and #pd and that was it for that box. Yes, that is disappointing. Had not read all the posts and did not see it was mistake on PP's part. Real rip off for the hobby box buyers! And retail buyers are getting a real treat I suppose at hobby box buyers expense. Wonder who the lucky stiff was got my sig series or patch???

I do thank Les for all he does on getting us all good prices on these case breaks. May have to skip the next one or two. Just not being what they used to be but also my circumstances not either. Just can't afford all the lost taken on buying cards lately.

Wish all the rest of ya the best on your pulls if you have not already.

Any I have left are listed on the bay already.

Thanks!
