Hello Everyone,

Pulled a Hot Threads Cars HTT3 Ryan Newman from a hobby box yesterday...thought they are inserted only in the retail product?

Add me to the list

I'm working on my boxes now
I got a factory sealed half case from Les' case break

I'm in the middle of a box and all I can say is WHAT THE HECK???!!!
I just pulled a Dale Earnhardt Hot Threads TEAM #031/160

Those are suppose to be in the RETAIL boxes not the HOBBY boxes

I think Press Pass messed up - anything we can do about it???

Guess that means somebody out there is thrilled to pieces to pull a HOBBY from a RETAIL

That stinks!!

Press Pass may have planned it that way to juice up the retail market some and placed both Driver and Team Series in retail and hobby packs. They are nearly serial numbered the same so the odds would still be 1:40 maybe if they don't overproduce on the retail packs. The only Hot Threads that says "Hobby ONLY" on the packs are the 1 of 1 Gold parallels.

Well right now I'm damn pissed!
I bought a half case with the understanding that there was a Patch or Sig Series in every half case
I DID NOT GET ONE!
I'm so mad right now I could spit
I was excited about Stealth but now I doubt I'll get any
Press Pass promises aren't worth the paper they are written on

I'd be POed to after spending that kind of $$ with the assumption the patch card would be in there. I think Press Pass really lost it on the quality control on this one...folks not getting an autograph in the box (1:20), people getting retail hot threads, damaged cards, and now no patch in a sealed half case. I hope they get their act together before Stealth comes out.

Hey Kathy,

I have a growing list of comments to be discussed with PP and I'm calling on monday. I will add this to the list as well. Not sure what the end results will be, but it needs to be addressed. I feel bad that you didn't get what was stated. I know between you and Laurie you each got an unopened half case. If you have anything else to address based on the odds stated for a half case, please email or PM me the details.

I feel your pain, Kathy...I would be upset also, if I handed out that kind of money and did not receive what I expected. Do not let it ruin your vacation, though! :cool2:

From two boxes I did receive my stated odds and then some...two autographs, one driver threads, one car threads and all of the other miscellaneous inserts/parallels.

Looks like the moral of the story is, do not buy any retail packs, because they are not likely to have the car threads inserted, since so many are turning up in hobby packs.

Well I would be watching the retail box breaks very closely. If there are half cases that were guaranteed to have the auto/patch cards that didn't get one... what are the odds we'll see some of those cards pulled from retail packs???????

If that happens I think Rick will have to sit down with Tom and tell him:

" TOmmmmYYYYYY You Got Some 'Splainin to do" :fighting0056: :sign0020:

if you didn't already know several of the last lap flag cards with the green white checkered cards have been pulled from retail packs....
friend of mine thought possibly the retail chains had complained about not having better cards in their product....
when I read the sell sheet and did the math...
I knew they couldn't make enough patches and sig series to cover the production run ....
I have also heard their were 2 versions of the sell sheet...the other stated a sig series ,patch, double burner or four wide in each 10 box half case....
and in all the craziness...I THINK WE GOT HOSED on the Daytona 500 Winner autos # to 75....anyone seen one ????
and I bet the case Press Pass broke to ensure the coalation of the packs was the hot case....
I have been keeping track of what is coming out of 10 box cases....
local shop owner pulled 2 patches both 8/8 and 2 double burners out of his...
lady on e-bay pulled
jj patch, 2 sig series ,2 double burners,5 firesuits and 10 autos out of her boxes....
so it is feast or famine....
I wish they would get their act togather...
I have 2 good friends that are so tired of Press Pass lack of quality control that they are threatening to quit cold turkey...
if they could only meet the odds they give..
I feel everyone would be ok if they didn't hit a great card..just meet the sell sheet expectations....

i can tell you this year the card designs have been better, the ideas for raceused have been better, but i am in a terrible pull spell. i have yet to pull anything great this year. best pull was dale jarrett double burner from press pass. in 04 i pulled 2 dale jr gold signings. i can't seem to hit just that one big card yet kevin pulls great stuff every time he opens a pack. is the east coast getting screwed.

i know his 1/1 kenseth came from our break and odins patch also came from our case break but what else really good has been pulled>

did perrys case come from our break? he did well. i know it is the luck of the draw but it is getting harder to buy when you pull glen wood autographs all the time. i know press pass is trying to have an auto in every box but glen wood??? unsellable, untradeable. i'd rather have multiple serial numbered levels than crappy autos.

and how did michael waltrip make an insert set when he can't make a race.
daytona dominators autographs are a good idea but what about ernie irvan??? even spencer was a great driver at daytona (never won the 500) derrik cope? i know he backed in but he won. i'd much rather pull an irvan auto than glen wood anyday.

as a matter of fact i would rather not pull an auto than glen wood. we look forward to pulling something decent to trade for our drivers and it seems these signings (especially in premium, ie last years) are bad.

i guess i wouldn't be complaining if i pulled a dale jr or stewart or martin. but someone would have pulled the glen wood. i almost didn't open the second box because of the auto i pulled in the first, but that draw of a patch or double burner or sig series or four wide alwasy wins out. but i am 0-alot this year

retail has been bad as well for me. 17 07 press pass retail blasters this year and only got 3 autos, 0 cup chase 0 burning rubber.

getting disgusted.

i will give stealth a chance and hopefully i can do a little better.

I THINK WE GOT HOSED on the Daytona 500 Winner autos # to 75....anyone seen one ????
Hey Chris,

While I may agree with some of your statements, I think that they did accurrately do these cards as stated. From what I saw, there was only ONE form that was put out that stated "numbered of 75" for the Daytona autos and that was a letter to hobby dealers and that . The sell sheets and the Press Pass website both state "numbered of 150" and everyone I have seen so far has been serial #/150.

I know we don't like the changes that occur on the sell sheets, but since they make these things up so far in advance, they can't always give us what they think they want to due to licensing issues, etc. One reason they always say "Tentative Checklist". It means just that, not everything they say will be in there and there may also be things in there that they don't list.

We could always go back to having Upper Deck do racing cards again (I just had a converstaion friday with Chris Carlin at UD and he confirmed that will NOT happen again, lol), but do you even recall how bad the set setups were for UD? You think that Press Pass is bad because they make changes and deletions... go back in time and see how bad it was for UD products. I can recall one set that they changed out nearly 70% of the product between the time the set was announced and the cards were actually produced and released.

UD also gave you redemption cards for you to pull from the packs knowing full well that they wouldn't be able to honor them and just played the old "bait & switch" game with you when you complained to make you feel like they were giving you "something great" to get you off their backs. They are still having redemption problems with their sports cards packs that run on up to two years, some even longer and they say they have no control over it.

It looks like the waiting game begins for me.
Hi Kevin,

I'm sorry you had another bad experience. Unfortunately, we have to
follow procedures on all collation issues - you have to send in a
receipt, box top and UPC. We'll review it when we do the collation
review for that product. Collation reviews are done approximately 60
days from the product release date. (Eclipse hasn't been done yet which
is why you haven't heard backon it.) Since you don't have a receipt
(and I would ask dealers to at least write something up for you in the
future), send everything else in with a cover letter that says that we
have discussed the receipt issue.

Also, please remember that we only send autograph cards out in rare
instances. We typically provide customers with packs when there is a
collation issue.

Unfortunately, as hard as we try to avoid problems, collation is never
perfect. We are the only company that has someone from here on site for
every pack out to open at least a case of product and make sure the
collation is where it's supposed to be.

For those of you that received RETAIL car verisions in your HOBBY boxes, they can be exchanged if you so desire. It was a packaging issue that Press Pass was aware of and will make good on. I have started a post so please check it out for more details: http://www.sportstradercentral.com/racing-case-breaks/10880-premium-case-break-news.html

Hey Chris,

Wait a minute... I know you... you are crazy!!! :tongue0011:

Are you sure it wasn't the white paper dealers letter??? I have two copies of the sell sheet and neither one states #75 for the Daytona Autos. The only place I found that it specifically stated "#'d of 75" was on the dealers letter and order form. I may also be wrong, but I did have both of the sell sheets and it wasn't on either.

"...will they be posting the info on their site???" HUH? lol What info? It already does list the Daytona autographs (blue foil) and states they are serial numbered of 150. Is that what you were referring to???

nope about the retail in hobby boxes redemption program....
and I will eventually find the sheet that had # to 75 at 1 per case odds....
