Well, I bought back in February a redemption card for a Jason Kendall card I needed. I signed up on Upper Deck's website and redeemed it. I waited...and waited...and waited. Well, the 16 weeks (4 months) for the redemption went by and nothing. Found out I had to contact them for a replacement as the card wasn't going to be made. So, I contacted them via email and they got back and wanted to know my favorite teams and players. I told them who my favorite teams and players are, and told them that I hope that what they send will be worth my wait. Yesterday I got my replacements in the mail, and for the most part am pleased with what they sent. It wasn't any of my favorite players, but two cards of two of my favorite baseball legends. Here is a brief summary:

2005 UD Past Time Pennants Signatures Silver MA Bill Mazeroski T2 BV=$40I put the current Beckett values after each card. I don't understand how the card I was suppose to get has a value if it isn't going to be made unless they were basing it on the redemption. Also, I am guessing it was because of Mauer why the card isn't being made as I have a card from the same insert set that has both Kendall's and Martinez's autographs on it.

So, I was to get a $50 card, but instead I get $90 worth. I'm not a big fan of Upper Deck, but am happy with what they sent me to make up for the card I was suppose to get.

As for trading or selling these cards, I'm still thinking about it. I know if I decide to trade, it will have to be for something really good for my favorites. I might just keep them both because like I said they are two of my favorite baseball legends. Only time will tell I guess...

Not bad for a redemption card that only cost a little more than $20!

I'm not that crazy about redemption cards as well. I'd rather have the actual card than have to wait for it by sending another card in or redeeming it online.

Congrats! At least you didn't have to wait 2 yrs. That's how long I waited for a Bartolme Forunato (Who???) autograph redemption from 2004 SPX. I especially like the Aaron.
