I am writing this thread in Hopes That You all will Learn from My Mistake.
I was at The magic mile N.H.I.S. on the 16th .
While there I purchase a couple of pieces of Die-Cast. .
A 1:24 2007 Jimmie Johnson COT and 2 1:64 Dale Jr. Elvis COT Die cast
Well I never thought to open the 1:24 Box and Check it.
So the next Morning I decide to look at my new addition. {The 1:24 COT car}
When I opened the box the rear wing was not attached to the car.
I looked it over Very carefully and saw that there was some sort of adhesive. Adhering the Two together.
Oh and did I mention the WING IS PLASTIC. Yup it is Plastic.
So I called Motorsports Authentics (http://www.action-performance.com/) {motor sports authentic}
They told me that There Have BEEN MANY
Actually Hundreds of calls concerning this issue.
The lady told me that they were currently OUT of stock.
So she told me that the only way she could get me another was for me to ORDER another from them. {Credit Card}
and then when they received My die-cast {Broken one} and when the Other got in then she would mail it and THEN REFUND my credit Card. She also told me that she could NOT GUARANTEE me when it would arrive.
SO Remember when you are thinking about getting a COT car.
OR ANY DIE-CAST CHECK THE BOX CONTENTS IF AT SHOP OR THE TRACK
AND IF ORDERING ON LINE CHECK THERE RETURN POLICY!!!

Yea, I've been there before...espically at tracks. I remember when I bought Sorenson's rookie Cup car last year, I didn't check it until I got in his line for Autos, and when I took it out, one of the roof flaps were broken off. It seems like whenever I buy a car from a store, or online, there is NEVER a problem, but at the track, there seems to be numerous problems with the cars there. Good luck, hopefully everything works out for ya. AND, thanks for the heads up for when I go to Martinsville, b/c I plan on getting quite a few COT die-cast there.

Seen it happen last week at the track. Guy waiting in line in front of us opened his up to find the wing broken off. Sounds like the people at Motor Sports Authentics were real helpfull. NOT

Yup, I knew about that. Definately check them before buying. I guess actually getting the cars out of the styrofoam sucks too. I don't have an COT diecasts yet (ordered a Hamlin NH win car and Edwards Red Sox car). So when those finally come in, that'll be cool.

On another note, I got a Ward Burton #4 Air Force car from this year and the windshield was cracked. It looked as though someone jammed their thumb hard enough on the window to crack it. It was weird. It even still had the paper on the box.

Well I got my Hamlin FedEx Express car in today and I'm sure you guys know this but there are 2 screws on the bottom you have to unscrew first, then cut both sides with the tape and lift the styrofoam straight up.

All I did was unscrew the 2 screws on the bottom piece of styrofoam, then cut the tape that is on BOTH sides of the styrofoam, then lift up the top piece evenly and I had no problems.

I just got my Dale Jr COT and the wing was fine on mine but my huge problem was on the front splitter and the plastic rods that come down were messed up. 1 was broken and 2 others werent bent so bad that if you tried to fix them they would break as well. Does anyone have a number for me to call? the other bad thing is mine is a GM dealers and its in very low quantity
