is there a link to a website that might help me locate local card shops by zipcode? I travel a little bit and I'd like to find a site or link that could tell me by zipcode what card shops could be in the area that I'm in for the week. I have 2 in my local city but I'd like to frequent some others if I could find out if there are any out of towners. Thanks in advance for any info.

I don't think there is any site that does this anymore. There used to be a site that I knew of but it did not stay operational for long as that was about 5 years ago. As I had the link handy when this question was broached. When the shops started going belly up in the mid 90's I think led to the demise of this truly being needed as many are still not staying in business for the long haul.

I could offer you some other alternatives.

1) You could look at shows for when your in town as some are not weekends (Some). So you could hit some shows which are better than shops as they have better deals usually.

If you go to the bottom of the forum their is a EVENT listings with all the shows for the current month.


2) If you know your going to a certain state you might want to post about it. Ask members and see if anyone replies to help you out.

3) My best suggestion and it will take only a few minutes. For example where are you going. Type in MI and get a list of people that have Mi in their user profile. Then send a friendly pm telling them where you are going to be and perhaps if it close to where they live could they recommend a shop etc. This might yield some other interesting bit's as well.

Also, with number three you might meet some people which to me is the thing that truly makes the hobby what is it.

Google is a great tool for such searches.. type a city name and "sports cards"... you'll often get a google map link showing ya directions to shops even, not just names of shops.

Also Superpages.com (http://superpages.com) which works like a giant yellow pages
