Always good to see when a new card shop opens (http://www.jconline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071121/BUSINESS/711210330)! If you are in Lafayette check him out.Rob Hoffman doesn't spend much time buying and selling sports cards on eBay these days.
That's because he recently opened a shop in Lafayette where he sells, buys and trades baseball, basketball, football and hockey cards.
"I had been selling cards online for many years on the side. But I've always wanted to have my own shop," said Hoffman, who owns Team Player Sports Cards, behind Lone Star Steakhouse in the Lincoln Square retail center. "This is a lot more fun. You can meet some neat people and talk to collectors."
To help pay his way through collecge, Hoffman set up a booth at a number of sports card shows and may sponsor some shows in the future.
His inventory includes current and vintage cards, autographed helmets, signed balls and commemorative plaques.
