in a repeat of the first round of last years playoffs looks like if get oaklands starters out of the game, they can be had... their bullpen sucks and it is reverse with the twins not the starting pitching isn't that good but once the ball goes to the best bullpen in the league the game is over.

Hawkins- 6th inning

Guardado-Saves the game!!! lol

auctually this year the 7th has been gong to romero, the 8th hawkins(my boy) and the ninth to guardado(who scares the crap out of me everytime he pitches)

Note: Latroy Hawkins has only given up 2 ER's this year in a little over 20 innings.

being an Angels and Dodgers fan out here in S. CA, I am now a big fan of the Twins

until they play the Angels, lolol

Don't ya love Torii Hunter -- the man can play defense!! Plus, given his tough background growing up, he's a fantastic guy!!

So the Yankees crush the Twins.

The Twins crush the A's.

And the A's crush the Yankees.

In the last several years, Angels have the best record vs. the Yankees,

for whatever that's worth

lolol

yeah they are cool - i got most of their autos back when in 98, 99, 00 when they were just being called up the big leagues at the end of the season and stuff.

romero usually pitches the 7, hawkins the 8th and guardado the 9th...... yeah he gives everyone here in MN heart attacks too. almost blew that game 5 in the playoffs and now he's starting to complain so he'll probably be gone in the next few years.

he almost gave up game today, everyday eddie gave a homer in ninth, I haven't heard that he is complaining what does want more money, cause he got the best defense in the league behind him, which saves his butt most of the time.

well when he got off to that horrible start this season, he said we were playing without heart and we didn't care etc etc but that seemed to kind of turn us around somehow..

eddie and hocking didnt get raises this year and they have kind of been complaining about it a little since they were here during the losing days. mientkiewicz probably won't be here next year because he will want a bigger raise this year and he's not amazing on offense, but he saves so many runs with his D, it's pretty much the same thing as getting a RBI. Also AJ could be gone because the Twins have so many good 1B and C in the minors like that kid from St Paul and Todd Sears.

I think that the Twins can possibly get past Oakland in the playoffs, but although I hate the Yankees... I don't see anyone getting past their pitching and hitting.

who got contracts, yeah torrii broke the twins bank, why wouldn't you allow that, he is the best in the MLB, jacque is one of the top 10 of in the league if torrii wasn't in center it would be jacque, he moved over for torrii, the platoon system in right is a log jam of talent, kielty is just tearing the ball off the cover, and van play multi positions, koskie is solid at 3b, so is guzzy at short, rivas is decent, need a little more pop, dougy at first you give him what he wants, his hitting will come back, he locks down 1b, eddie can go straight to hell, I like him as a person, I have known him for a while, and hung out with him a couple time, cool dude but he needs to shut up and pitch with out giving everyone a heart attack each time, hawkins I will never say anything bad about, his contract is up after this year, who knows what he will do, he and torrii have the same agent so if give his agent larry reynolds(harold reynolds brother) a bigger bargain points, hawks make 3 million this year, he doesn't need more money as he is very fugal, but he might want some more, maybe he can donate to his hommie a couple hundred grand, JC, give him what he wants lefty that throws hard ala billy wagner(campared to their size) fetters a joke, and the other guy in the bullpen who really is a starter, aj is good but he knows the future is with maurer when he is ready, radke, mays, milton, santana, rogers and the reed, great pitching staff and the only ones I would get rid of is rogers and reed, (don't know how many years they have yet.

if eddie is complaining he has been there since day one, he should know that you can put hawkins, or JC in the closer role and not skip a beat. he should remember just a 1 1/2 years ago he was the set up man. he was a little more mature than hawk in his pitching career. but now I don't know.

just my thoughts

I do agree that Torii deserves the money he made. That defense is outstanding, but he's gotta start hitting

The Yankees could lose to the A's or Angels.

Those are the only teams they have trouble with. They can take care of the Twins, Red Sox, and Mariners but those 2 teams can cause them big trouble.

all three pitching staffs are good and what does that mean in a 5 game series all you have to have is 3 good pitching games and the series is over, the twins did well against the yanks last year, they played the yanks this year and were slumping hell even the whitesox swept them. But now they are back on track and jsut took 2 of 3 from oakland, which is a big series, no people know last year wasn't a fluke. The kids can play and nobody is really not except for jacque jones and bobby keilty, the twins something a lot different than most team, they make runs they hit and run, they steal bases, they stretch singles in to doubles and doubles into triples, and the defense doesn't give up extra outs, it is 3 and out with them, and lastly the bullpen is sooooooooo solid.

I could have sworn the Yankees crushed the Twins last year as well. They have gone like 15-1 against them in the last 16 games they've played.

Yeah the Twins do play the Yankees very close. But I really think that the Twins are at a huge disadvantage if they played them in the playoffs because the Yankees offense is too good for their pitching and the Yankees pitching is too good for the Twins defense.

The A's at least have a better rotation and the Angels have a very similar offense and pitching to the Yankees.

In a 5-7 game series, you only pitch your top 3 pitchers and the rest are in relief. That's how Tommy did it with the Dodgers in 1988, where Orel Hershisher pitched every 3 days, and even got an inning in relief

gioperation

well the thing is with ML pitching anyday you go out there that pitching could be deadly, and radke, mays and milton is a nice top 3, if you put milton in the middle because he is a lefty, you can throw some players off. and when milton is on you can forget about, yeah the yanks have some very great outstanding pitchers, but they are getting old and who knows how they will perform at the end of a another long year.

yeah i hate Rogers and Reed - they are sooooo washed up.

We have another couple of good 1B in the minors so Mientkiewicz might be gone if he wants to much $$. Yeah AJ is good but as soon as Mauer is a starter, he will be coming up.

Yeah Torii deserved the big bucks, but they dont have enough to give everyone who does deserve it. Cuddyer is back in AAA right now but he can hit 30 HR in a season soon. Lohse is going to be good -- i grabbed one of his RCs #/50 a couple months ago. Rivas is great in the outfield but he cant hit

The Mariners do play the Yankees very close and this year they have played very well.

But for some reason I think I'd rather have the Yankees face the Mariners rather than the A's or Angels.

pwaldo...I would agree with you. And perhaps you know that Angels, in the last 3-4 years, have the best record vs the Yankees?

They're something like 3 games over 0.500 vs the Yanks

Yeah I know its weird. If you had to guess the team that they have had the most trouble against nobody would guess the Angels.

The Angels have a good team but to think they play the best against the Yankees is unreal.
