The Lexington National Guard Armory is one of the Longest running shows at in Beckett Baseball Beckett Show Calendar. As I believe the show is approaching it 20th year in November and has been in the Beckett Show Listings under Kentucky for 20 years. Good to say it still going strong and Larry Watts the show promoter is hoping to keep it going strong and having a nice 20th Anniversary show this coming November.

I went over slightly after 12 and there was some activity for a small show in from my view. Here a picture of the show about a hour later and I was told at 10 it was twice as busy and I was like geez not bad. Guess the early birds like to get there early so they don't miss the WHITE WHALE.

I stayed for about 3 hours and talked to a few of my buddies that I talk to everytime I go, especially Don who I chat with OSU vs UM all the time. There is not much to smile on about my plate as we lost too many on that front in the Big Football Rivalry.

I went back Sunday as that usually only when the diehards set up but let just say glad i did as a few people sometimes just set up for a few hours as the Tables are only $15 a piece (WHERE CAN YOU BEAT THAT TABLE PRICE)!!

Here what I picked up on Sunday for $10

I also took a few pictures of a guy that I seen that sets up on his day off from work occasionally. He did pick up a few nice trades as a guy came by trying to sell a few Willie Mays, Cal Ripken, Justice, Griffey, and a few other authenticated Balls to him. He passed on the lot but did pick up the Cal Ripken ball!!

Here is some more pictures of the guy that had the Balls as I took a few pictures of his cases:

A nice two color REGGIE BUSH!!

I will try to put up a few more pictures of some other Hockey I picked up 2nd Gretzky and some other 80-81.

Paid $20 for both with the Gretzky booking at $90 and it is UNSCRATCHED!!

Sorry to post on something 3 months old...maybe I'll get an answer...

Anyway, I used to live in LEX and am now only like 2.5 hours away. It seems like a good show and would be worth my drive...just one question - how much vintage baseball is there? All the pics just show new stuff or hockey or football? I'm a set builder so I'm not necessarily looking for stars...do you ever see alot of '59-'69 baseball?

I see alot of vintage down there myself. I usually go every month. Should be there the end of this month. I can't say about exact years but I do see some vintage.

Well as for Vintage there a guy that does real vintage as I did a video of Don on YOU TUBES as he does the old peidmonts, 202's, and a lot of stuff like that. As for other vintage cards there are a few guys that bring it from time to time.

p.s. Where do you live now as your saying it a 2.5 hour drive? As Htwheelz01 said he sets up so he should know what is there from time to time as well.

Quick question! It is 3:06PM and I am thinking of heading out to the armory for this month's show. I am wondering, do tables buy cards from you? Like, if I bring cards, will they be interested in purchasing them for resale?

I need to know ASAP before 5PM because I am trying to get this Rajon Rondo auto off my hands.

Thanks guys.

Well sorry I was at the show until about that time. If your looking to sell cards people will buy but you won't get a lot of money unless the card is hot, the person knows they can flip the card, or it sells for close to that on ebay etc.

p.s. If you have any questions feel free I might drop by there again tomorrow as I am going to post a few things tonite about what I picked up at the show.

Sweet, thanks. I didn't get to make it out today because I left my lights on and had to call AAA, haha, but I will be there tomorrow. I am looking to sell a Rajon Rondo UD Artifacts AUTO and some Adrian Peterson rookie cards.

I will probably be there at about 2PM. Thanks.

Two things. Coming ON Sunday to sell is the worst thing to do for several reasons. There will be more dealers there as it so cheap a lot come to just do one day and not do Sunday. So if you go there will be a guy setting boxes up on the right when you walk in, there will be another guy possibly down farther on the right selling and buying cards (but he not going to offer ya what you want). Then there might be two other dealers and that it. Of course if you would have come on Saturday there would have been 12 to 15 dealers looking to buy stuff possibly.

p.s. I would not waste the trip out there unless you live in Lexington. Anyway, if you go let me know what happens.

OK, it took me a while to figure out that you were saying that there are more tables on Saturday. At first it seemed like you were saying that there are more tables on Sunday, LOL. I would imagine that there would be less on Sunday.

If I were buying as well as selling, I would go out there anyway, but today I am just selling. I'm gonna go on a Sunday some time just to get a feel for how busy it is, just for future reference.

Thanks.

NEVER NEVER use Sunday for a reference. It would be like being in a booming town then in a ghost town. As Sunday is probably down in attendance 90 percent.

p.s. Let me know what ya thought!!!

DON

I'm confused, you told me not to go on Sunday because it isn't really busy, but then you told me not to use it as a reference. I'm saying that I want to go out there and see for myself how busy it is going to be on Sundays, so I will know for the future.

LOL

Thanks.

If your looking to sell go on SATURDAY as you will have more opportunity to get a better price for your cards. As for a reference I am saying don't use SUNDAY traffic to compare what it will be like on Saturday.

DONI'll be there next month, I'm looking forward to seeing how it is. I can't believe I didn't know about this show. A friend of mine told me about it. I've been here all my life, LOL.
