Who do you think will win this years home run title?

NL = Since nobody dares pitch to Barry, who else but Slammin' Sammy.

AL = ARod is in his prime, he's the man.

NL = Bonds (even though they have no reason to pitch to him)

AL = Arod last year was a fluke, even though he is my fav player... I'll go with Hinske :p

You have 1, I have 37 (about to be 40) so we'd both be happy campers.

WOW! You would be really happy. Now I sound like an idiot saying that I would be happy because I have 1. lol

I was getting a little bored of eTopps and seeing all my basketball just sit there, so I adopted Hinske and sold off all my basketball and used that money to buy up as many Hinske's as I could. Now I'm trying to get 50 (1% of his PR) before the season starts and hopefully then his cards will take off. Just think if they hit $30 and I own 37 with an average of $5.78 paid per card... I'll be in the moneyyyyyyyy!

Wow, Iggy. That's quite a risk. Hinske has competition with Shannon Stewart and Catala-whatever from '02, Delgado from '01 and probably Phelps in '03.

If I were to invest in 50 of his cards, I'd be going to Toronto's Spring Training camp to ask him how he's doing and try to get his scouting report.

Anyway, my vote's for Griffey in the NL and Giambi in the AL. The pressure is off the latter now that Godzilla's in the picture.

Al - A-Rod
NL - Griffey Jr. with an amazing comeback year.

Well the $30 a card thing was a joke, but hey, when I'm paying less than $6 a card for last years ROY who hit .280 and 29 HR's in his first season ever in the bigs, I don't see how I can go wrong there. Even at the worst, look at Ishii. He got his head drilled with a batted ball and fractured his skull. Who knew if he'd ever pitch again, yet he's still trading at $4.50. I think Hinske has a lot more potential in doubling in value than he does losing half his value.

Good point, Ig. Of course we'll just have to wait and see.

I have 6 Hinskes but no faith. If it ever hits $10, I'll sell in a heartbeat.
Juan Gonzalez is back and will do it again.
Griffey or Sosa are going to the last game to decide the winner. Bonds will walk 300 times! Makes it hard to hit enough homers.

How can A-Rod not win the AL HR title? The only real protection he had last year was Palmeiro and he hit 57. He will have Palmeiro covering him again and a hopefully healthy Gonzalez and Everett. A-Rod will win his 3rd title in a row.

Sosa didn't win the title last year because he had almost no protection in the lineup. Doesn't look much better this year with Mc Griff gone. It will probably still be Bonds just because he is Barry Bonds.

Thome won't do it because he'll have to make adjustments to the NL. How many have won the HR title after switching leagues?
