phillies looking good right now... stacked in pitching and there all doing good... thome is finally coming around.. i think they "possibly" could take it this year if they work hard enough... got a good overall staff :hop: :hop: :hop: :hop:

I'm still not convinced on the Phils yet. They seem to spend money on FA every year but fail to really do better. I don't think Thome is going to make that big of a difference but they did improve their pitching staff.

I hope them are the Mets can take the NL East this year I'm tired of seeing the Braves win thier division. I don't think the Phills will win the World Series this year though.

i think this is the year the phillies overtake the braves in the NL East. They have the pitching in Millwood, Wolf, Padilla, Duckworth and Myers. They have the infield, Rollins, Bell, Thome, Polanco, the catcher, Lieberthal and the OF Burrell, Byrd and the other guy i cant remember. They have teh caoch in Larry Bowa. The only problem i can see is closer, i mean come on Jose mEsa?

Whatever happened to the Phillie fanatic?? Speaking of Philly, the Avlalanche are playing the flyers tonight, I am making wagers.. If you want the Flyers let me know.

I'm interested in seeing what Byrd can do and, for now, whether Duckworth's elbow is going to be okay.

I disagree Iggy philly to me has the best young talent overall in the bigs and Thome will have a great year he gets no respect

Phillies will be very competitive and has as much chance at a division title as Braves and Mets. Without a doubt, this is their best team since 1993, the phillies last world series season.

Good luck to the Phillies. They deserve to do better, making the NL East full of exciting games and rivalries.
