The Milwaukee Brewers hosted On Deck, their FanFest prior to their final preseason game at Miller Park in Milwaukee. Everyone had to have a $10 preseason ticket. Doors opened at 10:00 am, parking lots opened at about 8:40 am. After standing outside in 31 degree weather for an hour and 20 minutes, the doors opened, and fans could run in to 4 autograph stages, where players would be for 45 minutes. Two players per stage, appearing at the same time as each other on multiple stages, so Prince Fielder and Jason Kendall were together, and Ryan Braun and New Yost were on another stage at the same time. Autos were limited to 1 per person, and 275 total autos to be done. I got one autograph on a trading card from Jason Kendall and one on a card from Prince Fielder, and then stood on line for multiple others and got shut out every time, including Tony Gwynn Jr, Bob Ueker, etc. There were also 4 other stages on the field, mostly featuring lesser known players, such as Steve Bray, Chris Narveson, Ozzie Chavez and Abraham Nunez, who signed for 30 minutes each.
Generally, it was a mess, and unfortunately, not worth the drive from the Chicago suburbs, the cost of parking, the ticket, gas, etc.
