If you read the article in Sports Illustrated a couple weeks ago, you would know he has no intentions of coming back. He is a shy and humble person and is very happy with his after football career.

wuts wrong with jordan? hes still a very good player in the league and i dont believe he is hurting his reputaion at all...y would barry ruin his career by coming back? also the only chance of barry coming back would be if he was allowed to sign with a different team

I guess the Lions knew for sure he wasnt coming back when the relinquished the rights to Sanders a few weeks back.

I didn't hear that anywhere. He shouldn't come back anyway, because he, unlike Jordan, would end up hurting his legacy by doing so.

It was on ESPN about 2 weeks ago, sometimes a player retires and it still counts against the salary cap, maybe this way it wont against the Lions, who need alot of help.
