Just picked this up and am going to send it off for PSA/DNA verification, but doing some reasearch, it looks pretty legit to me. And looking around, I haven't seen to many items with "Sweetness" signed to them as well.

Opinions? If it does come back as his auto, what value would you put on it?

Yeah I think it's the real deal as well. That bad boy is more then likely going to stay in my collection. Like I said, I couldn't find but one auto on anything with the "Sweetness" nickname and that sold for pretty high. And you gotta love the smiley face! :winking0071:

Thanx all...any other opinions?? Ideas of what it may be worth ( no plans on selling it, just wanted an idea! )? I can't find anything close to that to be honest. What i did find was a helmet with Sweetness on it ( and no number) that went for $2200ish. Now I don't think it's worth THAT much, but I'd think it's got to be worth more then his regular autos.

Its about 7 x 5 give or take. And yeah, when I send it off to PSA I am going to make sure it gets slabbed.

On a side note, I didn't put this in my original post because I wanted everyone opinion without it swaying them, but I DID get the PSA online verification to look at it. They feel it's a legit auto as well.

Looks legit to me, you should have no problems with authentication. Is the auto on just a sheet of paper, or is it mounted on something?

I have 3 Payton autos - 1 HOF mini helmet with the "Sweetness" inscription on it. Those are pretty rare and sell in the $600-$700 range on ebay. The other is a Bears mini and Goal Line Art card. I'd imagine the helmet you saw was a full size helmet, those usually go in the $2000 range.

If it were me, I would get it authenticated, but not slabbed. Then you can find a nice Payton photo and frame the photo and signature together, that would make for a nice display on your wall.
