View Full Version : will pinella improve the devil rays? cheesiehead 03-08-2003, 11:18 PM hes a great mangager, their a suckey team. how do u think their season will turn out. i think they will do pretty good, plmk what u think matt plunge 03-09-2003, 11:30 AM I think Pinella will turn the team around, as he did with Seattle when he took over. Maybe not in one season but over a few seasons. I like his goals and he's happy to be close to home, always a good incentive whether a manager or player. IggyWH 03-09-2003, 12:30 PM Is he a great manager? Sure... but you still need talent to win, and the Rays are struggling in that department. swedishfish 03-09-2003, 01:57 PM its depnds whether their super outfield prospects Rocco Baldelli Josh Hamliton and Carl Crawford develop and get better goirish48 03-09-2003, 02:43 PM I don't think s manager makes that big of a difference. They will still stink for a couple of years then maybe he will turn them around. CSlax3 03-09-2003, 03:34 PM true goirish...u need talent to win not just a good manager mtduff4208 03-09-2003, 04:27 PM how cant he improve that team? hes a good manager but it shouldnt be that hard to improve on TB's season last year plunge 03-10-2003, 08:57 AM He should be able to improve the game of Aubrey Huff by keeping him in the line-up. nyyanks 03-10-2003, 10:47 AM Lets put it this way can the Devil Rays get any worse?? I sure hope not!!!!! jdfan123 03-10-2003, 01:14 PM Lou will light a fire under the rays meaning they wont quit midway through the season like the last couple of years he will also make baseball in florida a little more exciting hit and run running the bases but they at best will win 75 games thekingpin 03-10-2003, 05:58 PM they'll be better... but not nearly fixed plunge 03-10-2003, 09:43 PM Definitely. Not nearly fixed, exactly. thekingpin 03-11-2003, 12:48 AM I think the best the Devil Rays can hope for is a team that works better as a team, but there's a star quality missing from Tampa Bay. You never know what to expect... but certainly, adding Lou to the scenario increases the odds of improvement. 03-11-2003, 07:29 AM yes definatly plunge 03-11-2003, 08:18 AM Star quality didn't do much with Boggs and McGriff in the line-up. I think Aubrey Huff will become the star...when he's traded to another team. mcirish 03-11-2003, 03:38 PM i agree with plunge hell turn the team around |
