Devils win, congrats to all of the players and the Ducks didn't go down without a fight. I give them credit. The best team prevailed. If the Ducks won, I would have said the same about them!

No one ever wants to lose; but this has been a great season for the Ducks.

Now, we will see if this is a one-year wonder....like that Carolina team.

Yea giggy definitely deserved MVP of the playoffs he played very well throughout the playoffs and greatly helped in sweeping the red wings and the Wild. The fans in NJ should not have booed him, but applauded him.

I knew they would boo, they are sick and tired of seeing Brodeur get passed over for awards every year. He's on pace to break pretty much every record Roy has, and has no Vezina trophies, no All-Star starts, etc. Just because he won the Calder Trophy, people have expected greatness out of him every year, so it becomes routine. Seven shutouts in the playoffs, a new record !!! How about that for MVP? Giving the Conn Smythe to a player from the losing team is a wasted honor, I guarantee they don't give a crap about the award at all after losing the Cup.

Well, at least Martin gets the best trophy of them all - the championship trophy. Three times. Take that, Hasek - you had to go to an all-star team to get yours.

Congrats to the Devils! I hoped they would win as I live in NJ but I am still waiting for my NY Islandes to get back to the promised land. I was spoiled as a youngster now I have to watch every other team win.

Same here, John. I was spoiled too, watching the Islanders get Stanley Cup after Stanley cup. In junior high, the Islanders were the second thing on every guy's mind, next to girls.

Nothing will beat those 4 cups in a row and the finals in the 5th year. they just ran out of gas. I remembered reading Wayne Gretzky's book and how after the Islanders whipped them for their 4th straight cup he passed by their locker room and hardly anyone was celebrating, only getting iced down and looked exhausted. That was the end for them. Got too old.
