Absolutely ridiculous, saw the replay on Sportscenter last night. That was just plain disgusting. Payback can only go so far, to grab a guy and punch him in the side of the head out of the middle of nowhere is uncalled for. I hope he gets suspended the rest of the regular season and postseason so he learns a lesson.

It makes me happy I'm not a hockey fan and never will be because of stuff like that. Hockey is probably one of the most violent sports. Even more then boxing just because you are supposed to beat people up in boxing. I don't care if there is a rivalry or bad blood between teams. A player cannot and should not go up behind another player and break his neck.
He should be banned from the game for life.

His apology this afternoon seemed sincere, but he still deserves to be suspended for the rest of the season.

I'm not a big hockey fan, so I dont know this....is bertuzzi known to be a rough player?? If not, then I do hope people forgive him.

I'm not against people being forgiven but the guy broke the other guy's neck! You can't just apologize for something like that and it be okay. It doesn't matter if he has had a history of roughness or whatever. I agree with someone on ESPN who said it was pre-meditated. You don't just go up behind someone and throw him to the ground for no reason.

molina- on your first comment, hockey is not like this...ther is some instances in every sport that is very wrong...look at baseball, the least physical sport and you get brawls...

im not defending him and it was completely wrong and uncalled for but he did not mean to break his neck nor give him a concussion and ia agree that the apology wont take this away

skyracer- he is a rough player but is very skilled and is maybe the best power forward in the game

im surprised he would have done this
