I have a Buddy who pulled a 2008 Leaf Certified Materials Hines Ward black skills 1 of 1 auto. How much is this worth? I need to trade him for it so i need to see what i would need to offer. Thanks for any help you can provide me.

I would probably say around $150 imo. Would be worth more to those faithful Steeler collectors. Might want to see what others think.

i suggest asking one of the steeler collectors on here, they will know even more than beckett. the ones on here are really knowledgeable.

You would get much more then 150 on the an open auction. I would venture even 100 or more in addition too the 150.

Wow. I guess its sorta a bummer to be a Steeler card collector. I am just getting back into the hobby from a long absence.

Being a true Steelers Collector is a double edge
on one side you can get some really great cards! a number of rare cards can be found of Steelers players so the options are somewhat open
on the other side you will pay for it LOL
I agree with Wheeler you could see more then the 150 for the item in an open auction this really would depend upon the demand of the player overall in addition to how nice the card is

Thanks everyone.
I could not get this deal done. The 1 of 1 factor was too much.

I'm a steelers fan but I actually have more brains than to toss that kinda money on an 08 Ward auto 1/1 or not! Go out and get his cheaper auto's they are still his signature.
1/1 are stupid because they truely aren't. I mean how is it a 1/1 auto when he has tons of them. Hopefully you understand that 1/1 on the card is meaningless unless you have more money than brains. Now if its a 1/1 patch auto that makes it different then all the others that is different.

The funny thing is you justify you not buying something by saying the person that does has no brains.
Its ok if you do not collect high end cards but to some how say that the High end guys have no brains sounds a bit like envy. If you want his mass produced rookie autos then great they are always there for change

Envy? No if I wanted to I could go highend. But heres where the fun part of the discussion is. Theres tons of auto's of mostly everyone. If the card is just an auto isn't the price determined by you the buyer? If you have 1000 dollars to spend on one card that is a 1/1 it does not determine the worth of that card because you decide to spend $500 on it. Plus I see this alot someone paid $500 for a card so they want that for it. Then wonder why no one else wants it for that price. Now if the card is an auto patch say of the logo then I believe the worth more, because its different than all the rest of his autos and makes it more of a 1/1! But because a company stamps an auto with 1/1 does not give it more worth especially when there are tons more out there.
If you collect Ward mainly and want it for the collection you might tend to spend more than most to acquire it.

What a ridiculous statement to make! Obviously from someone who cant afford high-end cards so you call collectors who do buy high-end stuff brainless.
