Hi all, I'm new here and have been primarily a baseball collector. However, I am thinking about branching out into football some. I haven't really watched football too much since Derrick Thomas (my fav. football player) died. I was thinking about perhaps picking one or two players to collect. Since I don't know too much about the newer players, and was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions as to who some good players (offense or defense) are, who aren't too expensive as I collect on a limited budget. Or is team collecting better? If so, what is the best way to go about it? I don't really have a favorite team, but the teams I've been following the most are the Chiefs, Steelers, and Vikings (my wife's fav. team), and for college, I follow Kansas and Oklahoma State. Thanks to anyone who might offer me some advice.

Chiefs - Glen Dorsey, Jamaal Charles

Steelers - Mendenhall, Lamarr Woodley, Lawrence Timmons

Vikings - Sidney Rice, Adrian Peterson

Kansas - Aqib Talib

Adrian Peterson is expensive, and he's right about the steelers, good luck with that. Limas Sweed from the Steelers is a good choice as well.

If the Chiefs are your favorite team I would go with them. You could go with the above mentioned or the other Derrick (Johnson) as well as the other Johnson (Larry). Although the latter has just gotten into some hot water.:thumb:

Thanks for the suggestions Project 4. AP is impossible unless I only collected base. Love watching him play though, he is great. Chiefs are my favorite team. Probably cause I'm from the KC area. I looked at Steelers cards on ebay last night and there seems to be quite a bit of competition on those cards. I will look into Limas Sweed though. As far as LJ goes, his stuff is really marked up here since I live in the KC area, but most Chiefs stuff will be. Thanks again!
