Not positive about '08, but in the past couple years, Topps Chrome has been a good blaster buy

I've dabbled in some blasters in 08, after getting back into the hobby. Here's what I can recall off the top of my head...

08 Topps Chrome - no guarantees of auto/GU, but myself and many others have pulled some nice refractors/x-fractors/inserts/blue and copper refractors as well as the occasional auto.

08 Topps - the $19.99 blaster guarantees 1 memorabilia per box

08 UD - guarantees 1 rookie GU per box (a great buy IMO because of the Starquest inserts and 2 RCs per pack)

08 UD Icons - guarantees 1 rookie GU per box

08 Stadium Club - guarantees 1 GU per box

08 UD Draft Edition - no guarantees of an auto

I don't think any of the Donruss/Playoff blasters guarantee a GU either. I had a thread about 08 LCM $29.99 blasters a few days back when I saw them at Target, but no GU guarantee I saw on the box.

I did buy an 08 Absolute blaster at Target for $19.99, thinking that the retail cards bring in about 1/4 to 1/2 BV than the hobby. Is this true? I also didn't think you were guaranteed a GU. Help me out here. :-)

I hope this helped.

Blasters are about the only thing you will find still sealed. Just about everything else is not safe because of searching.
Blowout cards has Topps Chrome Hobby for $52.95 which has an auto and a box topper.

I still prefer Chrome over the other retail stuff.

I'd go with Chrome if you are going blaster

You are not guaranteed an auto but you will pull at least a couple nice RCs, refractors, Flight to 420. Its easy to move Topps Chrome in trade imo.

Also like people said, if you go to Target their absolute memorabilia guarantee a Target Exclusive RC jersey.

There are also Leaf Certified Materials blasters out there which are 3 hobby packs for $30. They do not guarantee anything but chances are you'll at least get 1 jersey.

Topps Chrome...stay away from loose packs and stick with blasters.
