The is no question Clinton Portis is on a tear this year. In the first 7 games this year he has 818 yards and is on track to get 2,000 yards if healthy and maintains his pace. He is averaging like 140 yards a game in the last 4 games!

Probably not, too difficult to keep his current pace up.

i think he can. I knew he would have a big years this year. That is why i have him in all 3 of my fantasy leagues.

I have him in 2 of my 4 leagues. Wish I had him in all of them.

No doubt the best RB in the league this year. The passing game is keeping the defense honest and blocking looks great, but the schedule looks as if it is going to be too tough. If the Cowboys D strengthens up, it may be a little tougher since he still has a game against Cowboys, Giants, and I think 2 against Eagles. Game against Pittsburgh, and Baltimore as well. On the other side, he has games vs. the Lions (200 yard game), San Fran, Cincy and Seattle. We'll see, but it looks like he will be closer to 1800 then 2000.

The Cowboys looked pretty bad today and Romo could be out as much as a month. So, Brad Johnson will keep the Dallas D on the field longer than they want. :)

There is no doubt about that, but I have a feeling Romo will sit out AT MAX one more game (game against Buccs). I don't think he can stand to sit there on the sideline and watch Brad Johnson and the Cowboys get torn apart by the Rams. Wonder how the Buccs game will be. Maybe that will be more of Brad Johnsons type game and he won't screw it up as bad as today.

He's at what? 841 yards at 7 games through the season? That is incredible, but I just don't see it happening. I'm saying 1700-1800 yards, which isn't too shabby either. He is exciting to watch, though. Not like most RBs which take these 1 yard gains. He seems to always muster at least 4 yards out of each carry.

Won't get 80 yards come Nov 3rd at his house ;)

I don't think he will simply because he has been known to get hurt sometimes and it will probably end up costing him some time.

I do think with his schedule and injury history it will be tough to get 2,000 yards and 1,500 to 1,800 is more realistic with the rushing title.

No, 2,000 rushing yards is way too hard nowadays in the NFL

And all you guys talking about his injury "history" is insane. He plays all the time, injured or not. He missed part of one year with washington with a broken hand, thats it besides sitting out the last game of a crappy 6-10 season with a upper body injury.

with steelers and the ravens still on the schedule not really sure if he would make 2000 yds.

He gashed the Eagles, really no difference. Baltimore and Pittsburgh are 1/2 in run defnese, but the Eagles were up there too when the Skins faced them. Washingotn is #3 in rushing. It should even out some. I'm not saying he gets 2000 for the year, but he wont be 12 carries for 30 yards or so in the game, he will post decent numbers.

I think 1600-1800 yds is probably whats gonna happen. But Portis was injured for one year and everyone thinks he's injury prone. No one is invincible.

i couldn't agree more...i saw the injury history thing and i was thinking "what injury history"??? the guy is a machine and the only games i ever remember him missing where 2 years ago when he broke his hand...he plays week in & week out

i guess when you get hurt one time, you have a "injury history"...lol

you want injury history...check his Miami Hurricane teammates....Willis McGahee & Frank Gore have an "injury history"

Thank you lol

RBs get nicked from time to time. It caught up to LT this year. Hit LJ, Shaun Alexander, DEUCE and others a ton. Even god's angels Peterson and Bush have been injured, and they are only in their 2/3 seasons.

If there were ever a back that deserves it right now, it's Portis, the guy runs hard and plays hard each and every down. And he is probably the most important player on the Redskins team

I say no, he still has some tough games coming up.

He'll get worn down at some point. The only problem with going for 2,000 yards is that if he has one bad game, he's going to be off pace. I hope he gets it though, as he's keeping my team alive.

He doesn't speak nonsense. What exactly are you talking about? By standing up for himself to Brian Mitchell? Or calling out his **** poor offensive line after the first few games? Yeah I dont know why he did that, that was totally dumb.
