Hey guys,
So far, I only bought one box in my life of Football cards and it was the UD years for a Favre Rookie card that I caught twice in the box. It was mostly for the fun of it but now, I want to go more seriously into Football.
Since I'm already collecting Hockey and Basketball, I knows the 'Do's and Don't's' of these two sports but for NFL collecting, I'm green as green can be.
D'you have any pointers? Best boxes to buy? I'm not a huge Topps fan for their lower-end stuff.
Let me hear what you think about this year's release so far...I have no idea what to buy first, but it will be some of this year's product or maybe last year for a chance to catch some All Day goodies.
Thanks in advance for your pointers.

Leaf certified materials has some good cards!
I would get on the bay and search for some autos of your fav players/ team...Deals are too be had! BUYERS MARKET!!!
Basically football cards sell a little cheaper compared to baseball/basketball b/c there is little to no international market (less foreign players).
NO disrepect to those overseas collectors!!

Thanks guys...
So far this year, it's Leaf then? And what, we wait for UD's big gun like SPA and SPX? Is there an SPGU with the NFL?
How about the 'Gridiron' thing, is that any good?

Gridiron gear is a good mid end product. Some nice patches can be pulled. Basically the best products are
UD Exquisite
Playoff National Treasures
UD SPA
Playoff Contenders
Leaf Limited
SPX is out already but it isnt nearly as popular as it is for basketball. I would say it is a mid end product as far as the rookie autos selling prices compared to spa.
Another good product this year other than Leaf Certified Materials is Playoff Absolute Memorbilia which is a bit more expensive then LCM it think but it has some nice stuff. You migh want to wait for Leaf Limited to come out in about a month. Thats the first "high end" product of the year most people say. But they switched up the format this year so we will see if it keeps its popularity

Stay away from anything Topps they are absoulutly horrible. DLP usally has the best products to bust. UD has some hits and misses stay away from Icons and SP rookie threads.

Topps Chrome and Bowman Chrome are straight forward products
IMO Topps Chrome has far to many inserts but can deal with that however bowman Chrome is just base cards and RC with a good amount of Refractors
but BUY SOME LCM
for 2004 to present always a good product
with 4 hits a box

Gridiron Gear Boxes are hit or miss no middle ground on those
UD Exquisite Buy the singles not boxes
Playoff National Treasures Box prices are coming down but still not worth the price overall
UD SPA Unless you pull 1 of the top Rookies form the current year they are a waste best spend the money on singles
Playoff Contenders Too many D list rookie AU's
Leaf Limited Last years product was decent and i did see some great breaks but I would just buy the singles and save a few $$$$
The biggest aspect to collecting these days is to decide what you what to collect. All the boxes he listed are great if your looking to try and turn for some profit.
If you a player collector Buy Singles.
If your a team Collector I suggest the same.
If your a set builder then boxes arent a bad way to go.
