I got a question for you all. I just got back into this hobby and needed your opinion.

I was at the local card shop and was going to buy a few packs. I seen all the boxes up on the counter with all the cards in them. So I was kinda feeling all of the packs in one of the open boxes to decide witch pack I wanted. The guy working there told me not to touch all the packs, just grab the first 2. I was sort of stunned. I always remember feeling thru all the packs to try and grab a thicker one. So my question is. Is it bad etiquette to feel thru the packs to find the ones you want to buy? Or was this guy a jerk?

Thanks

Nowadays, it might be since there are a lot of people who hunt around boxes for "hot packs." Back in the day, this probably wasn't as big an issue because there weren't as many GU or autos to chase.

You was in the wrong. That is pack searching. It is frowned upon.

When you hit something from one of the packs from the front, next time ask him to grab from the back. That's the only recommendation I have to feel like you choose the packs.

Why would you need to feel the packs to decide which one to get? Why would you rather buy a thicker pack than any other?

It seems to me that some of the game used cards esp. ones with multi colored jerseys are thicker than the fake insert cardboard. So with that I would think that the pack itself would "feel" thicker. I might be completly wrong on this though.

Also I just like to pick my own pack. I also feel for the "Aura" of the packs. ya know you get that feeling that this is a lucky one. I know that is out there but its just the way I am.

I understand now that it is not accpeted to pack search. Thanks for letting me know.

my card shop guy mixes up the packs before he puts them in the box and only lets ya pick from the top unless its a side by side laying down packs and then he lets ya lift up and grab one
