Why wouldn't Brees be #1?
eastrise15 10-21-2008, 11:15 AM never would have thought in a million years kyle orton would even be close to being mentioned in a list like this...
madman1978 10-21-2008, 11:33 AM Why wouldn't Brees be #1?
WINS ?
IMHO the main number is wins
But that doesnt mean i think Roethlisberger is number 1
Collins should be on this list
wheeler281 10-21-2008, 03:30 PM Collins hahahahahahahaha
Ryo1549 10-21-2008, 03:40 PM WINS ?
IMHO the main number is wins
But that doesnt mean i think Roethlisberger is number 1
Collins should be on this list
He's talking about the best quarterbacks not the best teams.
tolrobb3 10-21-2008, 04:37 PM Orton has been good, but not top 5 good.
94ware 10-21-2008, 08:18 PM yeah of the LAST 4 Weeks.
Meachem Is My Man 10-22-2008, 07:21 PM WINS ?
IMHO the main number is wins
But that doesnt mean i think Roethlisberger is number 1
Collins should be on this list
at the rate drew brees is going he is going to cruch marino's record for passing yards in a year. Now that might be tough without bush but he will still get closer to that mark than any other quarterback in the league would. If he stays healthy.
bearfield 10-22-2008, 08:31 PM merrill hoge is goofy, why would someone take the last 4 weeks and pick what he thinks is the top 5 quarterbacks? for what purpose? it just makes no sense.
ShinyPspTitans 10-23-2008, 09:49 PM orton is the man
Sir BucNasty 10-23-2008, 11:42 PM WINS ?
IMHO the main number is wins
But that doesnt mean i think Roethlisberger is number 1
Collins should be on this list
Collins? Cmon man. Its easy to look like a QB is playing well when a) he doesnt get to throw the ball that much, which leads me to point b) it doesnt hurt to have the 4th best running attack in the league.
HerdsMan87 10-23-2008, 11:49 PM Some how when I read this thread title....Good ole Hodgie couldn't forget Big Ben...god i can't stand listening to this guy and how he praises Big Ben like he walks on water
#11 Roy Williams 10-24-2008, 12:39 AM Through wins:
Kerry Collins
Ben Roethlisberger
Trent Edwards
Eli Manning
Campbell/Ryan/etc.
For actual performance through this part of the season:
Brees
Rodgers
Rivers
Cutler
Warner
Who I think will be the best at the end of the year (no order but Brees at #1)
1. Brees
Cutler
Rivers
Romo
Rodgers
Other considerations: Edwards, Ryan
wheeler281 10-24-2008, 11:15 AM If you like total ardage Brees is your man.(normally indicative of being behind) I know who wins and who leads the league since 2006 in 4th qtr comeback wins. BTW tthe ROMO tour is over. He is a liabalitly. He will have good numbers based on the scheme they run. However without wins and team toughness who cares. Guy needs to stop being a mouse and take charge.. Personally I would rather have a balanced attack which equals playoff wins.

LOL, Ben Roethlisberger is not the best QB in the NFL if this is your sly way of putting it.
#1BILLSfan 10-24-2008, 09:23 PM How cant Edwards be in your top[ 5? hes played awesome and has made up for Lynch's not so beast performances. He will only get better

Because he isn't at the level of Brees, and whoever else I had on my list.
Remember, alot of QB's, including Kerry Collins, Brad Johnson, and Trent Dilfer succeeded in a system where they weren't required to carry the load of the offense like Romo, Cutler, Brees, etc. because they have a great defense, and solid run-games.
#1BILLSfan 10-24-2008, 09:51 PM edwards throws alot more then collins, johnson, or dilfer throw...u cannot compare him with those 3 QBs im not saying is a brees YET. but he is at least top 5..id say 4 or 5 behind brees cutler romo rodgers
#11 Roy Williams 10-24-2008, 10:38 PM I guess he could belong there, but i'm not sure I'd rather have him over Eli, Roethlisberger or Rivers at this stage. I like the guy, but I'll give him a full season before I place him above guys who have been playing in this league longer than he has.

Big shocker anti Ben by you again. Haterade Please...After watching the Boys you should know of all people flash does not mean best. Keep your flash I like substance.. More to football then flash even when it breaks down to positions.
I was not saying that but now that you mention it not sure who is that much better that you can say yup that guy. Other then Peyton and Brady if he comes back... Just saying he is better then Tony OH Romeo :) You never give Ben any props in any QB debate. Makes no sense except you just have a disliking for the Steelers. The kid just wins throws TD's and has consistent rating(2nd to Brady last year) and leads the league in 4th qtr comebacks since 06(which some used to say measures a QB) but not top 5... Oh yeah not even in his prime(26). Won't be there for another 2-3 yrs by NFL standards....Come on Dude What does he have to do for you. Fumble a snap on an extra point, gun sling some interceptions or maybe just be a mouse. He does have a team with 13 pro bowlers and a T.O. and Witten to throw to..He has also had 3 different offensive coordinators with totally different schemes.
It is all in the eyes of the beholder and up for debate. According to the NFL it is passer rating. Who Cares really. I would not trade him for anybody other then a younger Manning or Brady. AS far as who is best. No way to tell. Vinny Testaverde always was top 5 in passing yards when in prime. Still did not make him the best. I hope you around in 4 years We will see what is up..Were you with Santonio yesterday and his herb. I knew that was you :sign0020:
