View Full Version : Who would you pick??
daniel3417 10-22-2008, 04:24 PM Ok guys, it's something we've all dreamed about. What if every player in the NFL was available for next year's draft? Who would you take number 1 overall?
I would take Albert Haynesworth. Yes, I'm a Titans fan, but the reason I would do that is because I've seen Super Bowl Champions without great QBs, but they always have a defensive anchor. It's vital.
What about y'all?
garnett_21 10-22-2008, 04:45 PM Oooo...nice topic! I don't know...I'll think about it!
gladdyontherise 10-22-2008, 04:50 PM alittle bias huh :)
i dont think any GM would take him out of ANY player. i would select
Tom Brady, he has showed us all that Bill Belichek isnt so smart, but he has a great QB! Brady has put great numbers with great recievers and with the worst of them (remember Gaffney & Caldwell as his #1 & #2?)
nadeau01_johnson48 10-22-2008, 05:17 PM Hmm....great topic.
If I had to only pick one, I'd go with Brian Westbrook.
IMO, he's the most versatile player in the league, and can do so much for a team. I think, overall, he's more productive as a WHOLE, than any other player in the league.
hector234 10-22-2008, 05:22 PM If I were going offense, it would easily be Tom Brady
If it were defense, I would take Nnamdi Asomugha
Birdmandig 10-22-2008, 05:37 PM Offense:Brady
Defense:Willis
daniel3417 10-23-2008, 12:53 AM Dan, of course I'm bias. But you saw my explanation. Every Super Bowl champion has a defensive anchor, but NOT every Super Bowl champion has a great QB.
Now, now everyone. Not offense OR defense. You get ONE pick. You tell me ONE person!!
WHEC716 10-23-2008, 01:13 AM Matt Ryan
Based on age alone and building a franchise around a young player is a better idea then Brady, Manning, et al.

You would select Matt Ryan #1 overall? :confused0024:

You would rather build a future around a 31 year old QB with major knee surgery?
I'm assuming that with the #1 pick, I am building for the future. I.e. drafting for a team like Kansas City not a team like Tennessee. I.e. a toliet bowl contender not a super bowl contender. For if someone like Brady went to a Kansas City it is feasible that he would be retired by the name the tem became a contender.
ross9013 10-23-2008, 04:33 AM Tom Brady.
bmarshallfan 10-23-2008, 07:58 AM if i where to pick offense number 1 would say i want a young guy chris johnson
if i where taking def it would be ether willis or dorsey
mikpaq77 10-23-2008, 10:20 AM Brady...
trombley62 10-23-2008, 10:21 AM I would take Adrian Peterson.
uptonfan1 10-23-2008, 04:57 PM I would take Adrian Peterson.
Me too
Daytona1 10-23-2008, 05:12 PM Matt Ryan, Turner...then offensive line haha
daniel3417 10-23-2008, 06:28 PM You would rather build a future around a 31 year old QB with major knee surgery?

I wouldn't take Brady either. I'd take Albert Haynesworth.
I guess I need more than 6 games to see if someone is for real. If you're talking about the future, I might go Tony Romo or Drew Brees.
kylekyle 10-23-2008, 06:33 PM right now ben rothlisburger
ellogovna*123 10-23-2008, 06:56 PM Now, Drew Brees.
A few years ago I would have easily said Ray Lewis.
Aikman_TheGreat 10-23-2008, 06:56 PM I'd take Marion Barber first.
Then build around him.
#1BILLSfan 10-23-2008, 07:08 PM Mario Williams...best DLineman in the league
juliangen 10-23-2008, 07:44 PM Mario Williams...best DLineman in the league
agreed but hes not the best player in the league my pick would be ap because hes incredible and young
Aikman_TheGreat 10-24-2008, 12:49 AM Well maybe DeMarcus Ware.
Adrian Peterson is a possibility
gamblescardshack 10-24-2008, 12:53 AM I'll bite the soap. I would take the best young left tackle there is... unfortunately I don't spend my time scouting left tackles, so I don't have a name. Just insert the best young left tackle here. Then pick two I'm taking the best young defensive end I can get. I would build the most boring team ever!
blueuncle 10-24-2008, 02:17 AM I'd have to go with Tom Brady.
daniel3417 10-24-2008, 02:18 AM Mario Williams...best DLineman in the league
I like that pick.
fbbreaker 10-24-2008, 02:19 AM Barry sanders.....sure he still has some juice left in him
94ware 10-25-2008, 12:04 AM Very GOOD Question....I would start by building my defense around DeMarcus Ware obviously ;).
lukehoyt19 10-25-2008, 01:55 AM AP are you kidding me. The guy is good but who builds a team around a RB. RB's are a dime a dozen. Every year new talent comes out at that position. I would start with defense a solid lineman type player. Ware comes to mind also Freeney.
And if it was offense you have to go with a proven leader and someone who can adjust to any situation and that would be Mr. Tom Brady. There is no one better in the league and making something out of nothing.
chadjacksonfan 10-25-2008, 02:17 AM Brady
