Hello All,
I pulled this in August at the National, and when I opened this pack infront of the dealer who sold it, he offered me $500.00 cold cash for it, and I declined.

It's my first serious pull, and I wanted to keep it for myself. My curosity strikes me now, because if the dealer was so quick to offer me $500.00, how much could this be worth ?

Its a 1 of 1

that guy was trying to get a steal obviously. now, from what i see some higher print run autos from back in the day sold for around 450-500$$ so a 1/1 i would say has to be worth around somewhere in the $1,200 ball park. IMO

i would keep it but if you were to sell it like sports said you would get AT LEAST 1200 but looking at what the thorpe 1/1 went for you are probably going to get more thatn that for it

I would look in the range of $1500-1800 on it to be honest. Cant get much better than an Autograph of the person the Super Bowl trophy is named after ;)

1500 maybe even 2000 if you get a couple of crazy Packers fans having a
bidding war over it. Very nice card.

And think about how much you may get if you decide to sell the card after the economy rebounds! Congrats!

Honestly I believe 1500 is way over shooting it.

both sold for about $475, and the only difference is that the TriStar is #'d 1/1, but honestly what is the difference other than a bigger signature between those two cards and the tristar? Plus I dont think there is a big market for those tristar cut cards.

To me a 1/1 auto card should be unique, with a unique patch or something. An autograph 1/1 that has the same sig as any other of that guys but is stamped 1/1 to me should not demand any premium as the only difference is the stamping...whooptie doo

P.S. I'd love it if his autos got up to $1500-2000 as I have a cut auto I pulled back in 02 sitting in my safe

Yeah, what he said. $400-$600 sounds about right.

One of the Autos listed in those were #'d/221 and the other not #'d.

His being a 1/1 gotta bring in more than that.

gotta admidt i was watching a 1/1 doak walker from this same tristar and i thought it would be way out of my reach and it sold for $116 and his classics/25 sell for around $400 but if you did sell it BIN OBO is the only way to go still very nice

Tell me though, what is the difference between the TriStar 1/1 cut and the other two cuts I linked? Size of the auto is the only real difference and that alone does not make it a 1/1. So just because tristar decided to stamp their cardboard 1/1 to me does not make it any more special. A 1/1 should have a quality to it that sets it apart from other similar items. I just dont see how a 1/1 stamp alone would add over $1000 to a vince lombardi auto.

That is your opinion, but the buyers across the world on ebay will think differently, usually do with 1/1's no matter what product they are from, and Tri Star is one of the top Autographed memorabilia authenticators.

But I'll have to agree, Tri Star sets are horribly designed.

Tri-Star sells about as well as Sage & Press Pass. There are few that love 'em but most collectors have an issue with them. If you do a search for Tri-Star autos it's AMAZING what you can get them for. There is less of a market for these cards regardless of who it is of.

Well, if he ever puts it up online I guess we'll find out what it goes for, but until then it's all speculation. It is a gorgeous auto and I would love to have it but I'm still sticking with it being in the $400-$600 range on a good day, though.

Stephen

PS - Some examples, and granted they are not one-of-one and definitely not a Lombardi but if you had this card put out by Topps or UD it would be 10 times the value. A Tittle for $6? Insane.
