I bought a pretty high dollar card on ebay ($150+) I paid on the 12th. i have sent the seller 2 messages in the last 3 days. he has yet to respond. How long do you normally wait before taking action? He has 63 feedback all positive. I don't want to cause problems if he/she is just a slow shipper but i don't want to get ripped off also. Any advise would be great. thanks

I'll usually wait about 10 days from the day I sent the paypal. I only pay with paypal for the simple reason if I pay right after the item ends I shouldn't have to wait 2-3 weeks for a card to ship. On the 10th day I usually send a message and if they don't reply within 2 days I go to paypal and file an item not recieved claim that away they must produce tracking info within 7-10 days. In my own opinion it's a way that makes the seller get off their lazy butt and ship.

I would see if he had any other auctions that ended within a couple days of yours and ask the winners of those if they have received their cards or communicated with the seller. If they havent or there arent any other auctions I would file a claim after 10 days.

Ten days is MORE than enough time to send a card out if you paid quickly via PayPal. Sellers need to realize that they are engaging in a business transaction and that there is a certain amount of responsibility that goes with that. If someone takes my money in exchange for a card, money I worked hard for, I expect service just like I would in other facets of my life. I'd file a claim ASAP and maybe he can chalk it up to a learning experience.
