I just bought a small retail box of 2003 Pacific Exclusive Hockey and every 95% of the cards are dinged and chipped at the edges and corners. It has really pissed me off and I am going to send them an email to see if they will remedy the situation. The only two cards that are not damaged happen to be the inserts that I got, I think because they are made of different materials. Has anybody had this problem with Pacific, does anyone know if they replace cards? Thanks.

Man Radio I know how you feel. That happened to me last year with a box of those class of 2002 donruss baseball. What made me sick was that I got a really good Mark Prior rookie in there with a nice ding in the upper right corner.

For over $3 a pack that pissed me off big time!

One of the GREAT things I've found with Pacific is if you call their customer rep, they'll tell you to send in the box to them and they'll replace it for you. At least I know they used to do this, I hope for good business sake they still do.

I sent them an email and will call if I dont hear from them. It is crazy in this case because 99% of the cards are damaged! And you can tell it is the type of damage that occurs as they were being produced on the press. Poor Product! I will update this when I hear how they will remedy the situation. Thanks for the support!

Last year I was shorted in every pack for UD Prospect Premiers... wrote Upper Deck about it, they couldn't care less, I never heard back... hopefully you will have better luck with Pacific.

This is the response I got.. so now on to step 2....

Hello,

Thank you for your email regarding our replacement policy.

You are welcome to submit your card(s) for replacement to us at the address below. We suggest that you send your card(s) via certified mail so you can track your shipment. Please also include a brief letter that explains why you are returning your card(s) for replacement.

Pacific Trading Cards, Inc.
Customer Service Department
18424 Highway 99

In most cases, we can replace a damaged card that is pulled from a new, unopened, pack of Pacific brand trading cards, as long as it was released within the last year. However, due to the limited amount of each product we produce, our quantity of replacement cards is indeed limited.

Our customer service staff will gladly look into any specific replacement requests you may have.

We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you!

Sincerely,

Pacific Trading Cards, Inc.

Well I guess that's some good news Fo Shizzle My Nizzle Floyd. Definitely send it certified mail (with insurance because I don't think certified also gives you insurance) and keep us updated on the latest.

Wow. I can't believe that Upper Deck wouldn't respond back. They have always been the best company for stuff like this for me. They always through in extra GU or Autograph cards for their mistake.

man I sent in some upper deck stuff about 3 months ago, have heard nothing back, sent in some stuff to topps and got my cards back in less than a month.

They know they screw up, but I think alot of people take advantage of them.

My best one was sending Topps a JR Redmond autograph redemption. They didn't have it (it was from 2000 Bowman), they sent back a Terrell Owens Topps auto. Much better than the Redmond :)

I've always had badluck w/ redemptions...a few years ago when I collected sports other than hockey, I pulled out a Sam Cassel redemption auto from Topps, sent it in, and never got the auto, I wrote a few times and didnt hear back...then the kicker...I bought a box of 01-02 SP authentic hockey...pulled a Martin Biron buyback auto of a 00-01 Black Diamond Game Gear (the set Im trying to complete) and its #ed to 45 I think. I was soooo happy, so I send it in and 9 weeks go by, so I called them. The lady looked it up on the computer and said it was mailed out earlier that week, and I would get it soon. 2 weeks later, I get a package from UD, I was happy, opened it up, and there was a Sign of the Times Biron...not the right card, and a BV differance of about $45. So I call again, the lady apologizes and tells me to keep the SOTT because it was their mistake (the SOTT had major chipping on the edges BTW) and that my right card would arrive in 4-6 weeks. Another 9 weeks pass, and I get another package...ANOTHER SOTT inside. I called back and now they say that they cant do anything about it.....

Ville, don't think I've had a chance to welcome you to the boards, but welcome and enjoy your stay. If you have any questions, just PM one of us Mods. Those are some serious horror stories about cardboard and makes me even more happy that I got out when I did and now I couldn't be more happy with what I'm getting from etopps.

I have had the same problem with Pacific. I bought a pack of Exclusive about 1 month and a half ago the Upshall rookie I got was chipped to hell. In the last month and a half I emailed them twice, and phoned once leavning a message as to what can be done about the chipped cards bought. ( I didn't know we just send them in as I never had to deal with this before). But I still have had no reesponse from Pacific to any of my inquiries so I sent them expressmail to Pacific with a nasty little letter about their sh***y customer support, hopefully I get a clean Upshall rookie out of it.

I went to the post office and signed for the package from Pacific. In the package was 5 packs of Crown Royale hockey. I guess these packs were an upgrade but if I wanted to have the cards that I sent in replaced I would be out of luck. I guess since there weren't any inserts in the ones sent in they thought some better packs would work. Anyways, I think they did a pretty good job with the turnaround time. Out of the packs I got some nice serial numbered rookies and some inserts as well as a Forsberg, my favorite player. So good job Pacific.

That's not a bad deal Floyd.

Although I have since come back to them I have been very bitter with upper deck for a while.

Back in early 2000 I bought a box of SPx football and got a McNabb numbered auto rookie. I sent it in via regular mail and never got anything back. I was within the redemption period by the way.

I have emailed them over 100 times since about that card. I have gotten various responses with the best being "I'll look into it" and no further response.

Just writing this makes me so pissed I probably won't buy any UD for at least a month.

How much did you send in? Just some random messed up cards? I took it from your original post that you were trying to send the box back because so many cards were damaged.

Man that sucks, was that a redemption card? I know that the cards I just sent to fleer, I put delivery confirmation and insurance. Pain in the ***, but I wanted some cards back :)

It was one of those small retail boxes, I think there was 6 packs in it and I sent all cards back except for the two inserts because they were only ones that were mint. I think those packs went for $3 and I think these are more expensive.

Yes it was a redemption card. Back then I didn't think much of it as I didn't think McNabb would be that great of NFL player. Needless to say I was wrong and now the card goes for well over $100. :(

If I were you I would try and find a telephone number for Upper Deck and demand that you get something for that card. I'd been on the phone 24/7 until they sent me something.

Redemption cards suck.

I personally would have wanted the Redmond over the Owens any day. Of course I collect Redmond. hehe

Now with Upper Deck. I was surprised to hear of that kind of comment of Upper Deck. With Upper Deck I had opened a box of 2000 Upper Deck football. I had pulled an expired redemption card for a Tim Brown Auto/Jersey #ed/81. I was a little upset that I pulled what would have been a great card. But I went ahead and sent the redemption card in since I had nothing to lose. To my surprise I had recieved a package from Upper Deck with a Tim Brown Auto/Jersey card. So to say the least I was very happy with them.

Now with Pacific I have not dealt with them myself. But I have heard of other people recieving great service from them. So I hope you recieve the same. :)

Hi Richie,
Yep, you'd like it because you're a Redmond collector. It said he didn't sign anything for the product, so they give me an Owens instead. Congrats on the Tim Brown, that's a cool card.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck BGray, I'd call UD right now and tell them your story.

Tim
