View Full Version : Just another Fantasy rant...

Willis McGahee and Lee Evans are two guys I used to like...no more.

McGahee: Three weeks ago he was coming off an injury, but was finally (relatively) healthy and ESPN predicted a good game, so I play him: 0 points. Ray Rice has a huge game, so the next week ESPN is saying Rice will get a large portion of the carries based on that performance. So I sit McGahee and play Rice (dumb move, I know). Rice has 1 point, McGahee goes off for 120+ yards and 2 TDs. So this week, instead of putting a recovering Willie Parker in, I play McGahee: 1 point. I hate Brian Billick, I hate the Ravens, Willis McGahee is now on my poo list.

Evans: I picked up in a trade two weeks ago for LenDale White. I had Grant, McGahee, Parker, and LenDale and needed a WR. LenDale's number of carries has been decreasing, so I trade him for Evans, a top 10 WR at the time. Last night, I'm down 13 points to the guy I'm tied with for the last playoff position, but I have Evans and Lindell to go and he's done. Lindell puts up 9 points, his average, (although I could kill him for missing that last FG and losing me 3 fantasy points and making me miss the Pick 'Em on the game) so I should be good...all I need is 5 fantasy points from Evans, well below his season average. What does he do...0 catches, only 1 target. Are you kidding me!

So I've realized the Fantasy Football gods are against me, but I just looked at the standings in my league and that belief was reinforced. On the season, I have scored the 3rd most total points in a 12 team league, just 10 fewer than the #1 guy. Not too bad eh? But when you look at points against, I have had the most points scored against me and only one other team is within 20 points of me. Somehow, every team has a best-of-season day when they go up against the Black Sheep! What did I do to deserve this?

So instead of very easily being 9-2 and tied for best team in the league, I'm 5-6 and struggling for the playoffs. But of course, that's why we play the games right?
