indyreds 12-06-2008, 12:28 AM I have a baseball card that has Joe Morgan, Tony Perez & Pete Rose pictured on it. Tony Perez was the first player that I had sign it and many years ago I took the risk and it paid off as Joe Morgan signed the card also via TTM! We all know that Morgan is a index card only guy now and Perez is tough sometimes. This would be a hard card to replace, but with the way Pete Rose has been signing TTM I am tempted. I have always said do not send anything that you would be upset, if it did not come back. The thought of having those three members of the Big Red Machine on one card is very tempting though. What do you guys think? Should I risk the two HOF Reds players autos in hopes of adding a Third?

tikitomoka 12-06-2008, 01:19 AM i wouldnt, but its your card
LakersMC 12-06-2008, 05:02 AM That is definitely hard to replace. I wouldn't send it, if it were up to me. I might look into paying for Rose to complete the card. He's always signing (for a fee) here:

sportscollectors 12-06-2008, 09:24 AM There's no way I would send this expecting for a free autograph. In the past 25-30 years, Pete Rose has certainly not been a reliable TTM signer.
As Andy suggested, save up and get him at a show.
203gunner 12-06-2008, 12:33 PM IN PERSON. If the other two guys signed like Bobby Bonilla and Herschel Walker then I would do it but those other 2 guys are too hard to replace.
Cubbieblue29 12-06-2008, 01:07 PM NO WAY!! Get him in person.
tikitomoka 12-06-2008, 01:13 PM ok i just read it again, and i say mail it to rose, hes been signing great lately for no fee
Oxxon 12-06-2008, 01:35 PM I say get him in person. It would kill me not to get the card back. You have waited this long so just save up and meet Rose in person to sign it.
RockiesFan33 12-06-2008, 02:32 PM No risk, no reward.
bigga 12-06-2008, 03:05 PM If it where me I would send it.
ALEX55 12-06-2008, 04:05 PM this is what i think...
do you like the card without the pete rose autograph or does it make it look bad because one doesnt have it. if you like it the way it is don't sent it. if it looks bad without the pete rose signature on it send it.
maple19 12-06-2008, 04:20 PM I Would Send it As Rose is Signing TTM Again
Mike
indyreds 12-07-2008, 05:42 PM Thanks for all the thoughts on it. I am positive that I will not be going to Vegas anytime soon to see him in person. I also know that I do like the card, but it does look uncompleted. Right now I am leading to mailing it out and that would be a Weds activity for me. I might just try a different card first for Rose. Thanks again guys.
dicekmvp 12-07-2008, 08:48 PM I think you should send a letter asking if Mr. Rose will sign the card if you sent it to him.

i wouldnt do that because he might notice you sending him something twice and either keep or return your card unsigned
ttmautographs4me 12-08-2008, 10:14 PM i think you should try to get pete rose first....tony perez charges a feee...(i think), and joe morgan usually sends out a signed index card.....you might not be able to get everyone.
tikitomoka 12-08-2008, 10:16 PM he already got the other two, read the posts
Las Vegas Yankee 12-09-2008, 12:41 PM In case you are interested, I live in Vegas and have gone to go see Pete a couple of times. I'd be willing to go get your card signed. In fact, I'll probably be going sometime next week because Ken Stabler will be there and I would like to get his auto on a football. Let me know.

What is his show fee? I might take you up on that offer.
propete23 02-09-2009, 12:52 AM I would not send it. Im sure that you could get somewhere he is signing and know that your card never left your sight. TOO HARD TO GIVE UP!!!
I have a card of him and Pete Jr. at age 10 or so while on the Phillies. I would love to get them both to sign it.
indyreds 02-09-2009, 01:46 AM I did send two other cards to Pete Rose and he sent them back signed. I looked good and hard at that Rose/ Perez/ Morgan card today when I was sorting through some autographs. I will leave it uncompleted until the time comes that I can actually see Pete in person. I do now have all three players individually on Reds cards. My thoughts are now turning to where I'm going to run down a certain catcher by the name of Bench and make an composite item with Rose, Morgan, Perez, George Foster, Sparky Anderson and Bench. I still consider Foster as an outside shot at HOF by veterans committee one of these days. I have cards autographed of them all but Bench. He will be my new White Whale!
PS Propete23, yeah they are all in Phillies uniform on the card.
Incident57 02-09-2009, 10:54 AM In case you're interested.....

Might be a bit pricey, but the services was excellent....only chance I had to get Dykstra and Knight since they do not do TTM....for free anyway
Good luck!
LakersMC 02-09-2009, 05:04 PM All right! Another George Foster fan! I got to sit with him at the autograph table for a while at a card show because my uncle knew the show promoter. My favorite baseball player of all time.
I always want to start a Big Red Machine autograph project myself, but never get around to it. I heard Bench is really hard to get for free, so you might have to pay for his.
Would love to see pics of your BRM autos!
THREEMCS 02-09-2009, 05:06 PM Don't mail it
