I thought this would be a cool topic to see everyone's favorite piece of memorabilia. Hockey cards DO NOT count in this thread, so show off anything but hockey cards here. Basically show a picture and then tell a story if there is a cool story behind it! I will start with my piece of memorabilia:

Sorry for the semi-blur, my retarded camera couldn't decide where to focus. Anyways, this 8x10 is obviously the winter classic team which I have autographed by Dany Sabourin, Maxime Talbot, Georges Laraque, Brooks Orpik, Adam Hall, Jeff Taffe, Petr Sykora, Sergei Gonchar, Evgeni Malkin, and Sidney Crosby!

Somehow my girlfriend and I managed to get these signatures by attending only two practices. We also were able to get a picture taken with Sidney Crosby, which was amazing.

Team Canada with a few notable auto like Grtzky, Brodeur, Sakic, Lindros (yes he did sign a few), Fleury is fading a bit, the image also do not show it but still show on the sheet.

My sister work for the Jean Coutu Group and knew a rep that would happen to go to a practice fo the team and was able to bring her these auto.

My favorite piece of memorablia is the autographed puck from Mark Messier. The story behind the signed puck is pretty cool. A close actor friend in Vancouver recently scored a role in Slap Shot 3: The Junior League. He plays the character of "Precious" in the movie (in case anyone is interested). He got the opportunity to to meet Messier, Gilmour, and Leslie Nielsen. Well, this actor buddy thought enough of me to stuff a puck in his pocket and ask for the autograph over dinner with Mess (an experiance itself, I'm sure :love0030:). Its definitely one of the more thoughtful gifts I've ever recieved - Messier is my favorite player, its personalized, it has a story behind it, and he even included the "N.Y.R" because my buddy told Mess how big a Ranger fan I am...

I soon got this in my hand, and when I do I'll save up and send it to PSA or Steiner, I *think* it's authentic? It'll be my 2nd best auto ever (1st is a personalised Forsberg photo). Traded a Crosby and a Ovechkin signed photos for it.

I don't trust in person autos when they come from someone I don't know though so I will verify it somehow. (Actually traded for this one on the McFarlane figures board)

Alright I got it in hand!! Beautiful. A COA is included too which kind of puzzles me. It's dated March 11, 2004, Certificate no 00995, and issued by Bruno Persichilli (which is not the name of the trader).

I normally pay no attention to COA from private persons cause it means squat, but it looks more serious then that. Anyone recognise the name?

Oh, and what place is the best to turn to, verifying these autos? PSA? Steiner?

I got the glove signed at the Leafs pre-game practice at the Dome. I actually got to sit on the bench for the Leafs pre game practice. I had an awsome time with CuJo, he talked to me before practice, after practice and then again after practice after he had got out of his gear. He also gave me one of his sticks, and signed it as well.

FsPen that is so cool!!! Awesome story and awesome friend to get that you! Messier seems pretty cool. He got a bad rep in Vancouver though because of what he didn't help the Canucks while he played here.

I'll provide pics later this week, but I have a game worn jersey from the first ever Columbus Blue Jackets season, and it was worn in the Blue Jackets first ever game.

I have several other pieces including sticks, pants, etc.

And I have a special piece on it's way in that is the capstone of my collection.

Sorry for the pic quality, but im workin with a cell phone camera on this one hahah. I have some football things and smaller hockey stuff.. but this one takes the cake for me. My mom got it signed for me when she took her 3rd grade students to take a tour of the Igloo. And took it with her, and somehow tracked down Malkin and Crosby and made them sign hah.

I donr have a camera and they dont fit in the scanner. I friend of mine is the cousin of former tough guy Ryan Vandenbussche. So we went to a game when he was with Chicago. Got to tour the dressing room before the game and I got a pair of game worn gloves from him.

1st - Eric Johnson's 1st NHL Game, 1st NHL point:

EJ finished +1 with one shot and his first NHL assist (Tkachuk assited by Johnson and Backes), played just under 18 minutes and saw time on both the PP and the PK. Phoenix Line-up card signed by Coach Gretzky! Not positive, but may have been a few Coyote's 1st NHL game and points as well.



2nd - TJ Oshie, Alex Pietrangelo 1st NHL game; Patrik Berglund 1st NHL game, 1st NHL point:

Oshie finished -1 with 0 shots, played most of the game at even strength but also saw time on the PK.
Pietrangelo finished +1 with 0 shots, played most of the game at even strength but saw some PP time.
Berglund finished +1 with 1 shot and his first NHL assist (Tkachuk assited by Perron and Berglund), had less minutes than the others rookies and also saw some time on the PP.


Now the wait for Eller's 1st game line-up card :-)
