I'd personally like to show my respect on behalf of SCF to an unbelievable man, soldier, brother and US patriot. Pat Tillman.

For those of you that don't know Pat Tillman died last night fighting in action in Afghanistan. Pat was the Cardinals starting safety in the process of negotiating a multimillion dollar contract when duty called. Shorty after 9/11 Pat enlisted in the Army Rangers to serve his country in Afghanistan along with his brother. He spent his life working to be great in everything did and made the best of his 5'11" frame defying the odds to be a Pac 10 defensive player of the year and a very good NFL player.

Pat is a man that realized there are more important things in life than sports and gave it all up to serve his country. Along with every soldier that fights for their country Pat is truely a Hero and an example for all.

May God Bless Pat's Family.

Rest in Peace Pat Tillman. You are a great Man!

It was great to hear when he first went in.
That's what patriots do.
I wish I could have been there to help.
He was an inspiration to quite a few people who know the sacrafice that must be made in times of need.

God Bless people like him!

I don't think it's disrespectful for the others who have perished, we all, I am sure, feel a terrible loss for all our men and women who have given their lives, and if they were in the spotlight as Mr. Tillman ( because of his sports connection), we would have the same response (at least I would). I know with the way Mr Tillman was, he would echo your sentiments lloydr04.

Personally, I still can't watch any type of memorial thing about Mr Tillman w/o starting the waterworks. I think alot has to do with, other than the fact I watched him play and enjoyed his play from his college days onward, that he had his priorities absolutly 100% IN ORDER. Alot of people need to tear a page from his book on what a hero really is.

It was very, very ironic to me that today, during the draft, that Mr Tagliabue (sp)? had a short memorial/moment of silence for this extremely heroic individual, who literaly gave up millions of dollars to defend our country, then to go to opening the draft and the first pick (whiny Eli) refusing to play for a team because "he didn't want to" ............that, my friends, is what makes me want to puke about these whiny prima donnas, who wouldn't know a heroic act if it rose up and slapped them.

My prayers will continually go out to the Tillman family and loved ones, as well as to all the men/women and the families who have lost them.

Peace~

Pat Tillman knew what his priorities were & gave up his pro football career to serve his country. I hope that something positive can come from this since he was a known athlete & maybe some of our younger members can see that there are things much more important in life than sports & sports cards.

Rest in Peace

Pat Tillman was a great man. A true American to pass up millions to serve his country. He did what mattered most to him. Its unfortunate that he died but it was for his country and all of us.

And I find it extremely disrespectful that a ton of people are selling his cards on ebay for hundreds. seriously!you dont make money off a guys death. its wrong.they even claim "portions will go to the pat tillman fund" or something like that.

The thing is...we give Tillman so much credit, but don't give any to the others besides him who have died in war.
