I got this in the mail yesterday:

http://www.sportscardforum.com/picture.php?albumid=156&pictureid=3252

It has been so long that I don't even remember when I sent for it, and I almost completely forgot about it. I do know that when I sent it, postage was only 37 cents (based on the one stamp that was on my SASE...they added 5 cents worth to it). So, I'm guessing probably sometime between 2003-2005 (the card is from 2003 Press Pass so that helped some to figure out when). I'm guessing it was probably 2004, but I am not going to guarantee that. My return address was crossed out on the SASE, and Jr. Motorsports address was stamped below it. The card got a little damaged over the years. It isn't too bad though, and I'm just glad I finally got it back to add to my autograph collection (I have over 100, and most are TTM).

A little history on my autograph collection:
I was big on collecting autographs TTM (Through The Mail) from 1998-2003. My first was an autograph photo request that I sent to Mark Wills (country singer). After 2003, my interest started to die off (mostly because it got expensive with everything else I collect and I had a lot of request out that I was and still am waiting for). I still try to do it every now and then, but it isn't as much. Here is an interesting fact though:

My first trading card TTM: Dale Earnhardt
My latest trading card TTM: Dale Earnhardt Jr.

I also have a couple other Earnhardt autographs in my collection. I have Kerry's as well as Teresa's. I don't just collect racing though as I do have baseball, football, and a few others.

Well, thank you for your time and for letting me share this with you!

37 cent stamps were between 6/30/02 and 1/8/06

Doesn't help you that much tho :)

Yeah, I know. I do believe that it was either 2003 or 2004 when I sent it though. I use to have a list of who I sent to and when, but when I stopped for a while, I got rid of it.

Oh well, and I'm just glad to have gotten it.

Thanks for looking and for the comment!

Wow, I dont think I've ever actually seen someone who has gotten something back from Dale Jr...just because he gets sooo much. Congrats on that!

I can tell you it was signed before 2007. After that Jr/Jr Motorsports started using the holo stickers for verification of authenticity. Why they took so long to send it back will just be a great mystery/story to go along with the card. Congrats!

Congrats on finally getting it!! Thanks also, for now I have "Jacob's Ladder" stuck in my head since it was the first song I though of when I read the name Mark Wills. I have all his CD's, my favorite being Permanently. Great choice of music if I must say.

Thanks! I actually thought of that as well about the hologram sticker after opening it and not seeing one. Not sure why it took so long to get mailed back, but at least I got it. It is much better than nothing right?

Thanks! I don't keep records of the addresses I used. So, I can't help you much with that. Feel free to check out the Autograph Central (http://www.sportscardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=287) forum on here though as that was how I was able to get some addresses for recent requests. I'm not sure if Jeff Gordon signs through the mail anymore or not as I have heard once that he no longer accepts TTM request due to how many he gets. I could be wrong though. Maybe that will be the next one I get back as I sent at least one before I heard that. As for Jimmie, here is a link to the autograph info on his official website:

Hope that helps you!

Thanks, and sorry Pete that I got a song stuck in your head. My favorite song of Mark's is "Don't Laugh At Me". I enjoyed his music, but after he came out with that song, I became even more of a fan. That was part of the reason for the autograph request that I made back then. My favorite studio album of his would have to be the same as your's (Permanently). However, I do like "The Definitive Collection Of Mark Wills" as well. Sure it is a greatest hits type album, but it has ALL of my favorite songs of his (so far) and is better than his actual greatest hits album. That is just my opinion though. The only album I still need of his is his new album (Familiar Stranger).

Thanks again everyone for looking and for the comments!
