I had never met Mason but picked him up and took him to the 29th National Sports Card Collection in Chicago. Think he had a good time with Steve and I at the show. Just shot a quick shot while I was at his house before his wife shipped him off with a stranger.

p.s. Mason if you want anything from Racing this year just holler will track down Tom and Trout to get ya some stuff.

Great shots of Mason and his "collections"!!! I was honored with still pics that Mason sent me many, many years ago. It looks like even with having his buddy Ron stop by, the collections have still been growing, lol.

Thanks Don for posting the video. Some interesting angles (I thought I was on a roller coaster there, LOL) of the man himself in all his glory!!! Now if that isn't a super collector I sure don't know what is! Come on Mason... sign up!!!

Since I got into the racing hobby in 1999, Mason has always been one of the true authorities when it comes to collecting...I remember back to the old NTN2 days and some of the folks shared pictures. So while this isnt the 1st time Ive seen Mason's Rooms, it definately put a smile on my face. Thanks Don for sharing

It all good I sent Mason a post letting him know I finally put it up. As I had my old computer and couldn't upload video's. So almost six months later it up LOL. Will have more stuff from the Nationals when we have time this year as well.

Was just glad to have Mason go as he held down the table while Steve and I wandered around.

p.s. Yeah he does know it stuff. I think anyone that loves racing would love to spend 5 hours in a ride with him as the stories OMG. I know so much now about various aspects of cards never made, quality issues that slipped thru QC, and more. It was a honor to spend a few days with him.

I hear ya Ron!

I can honestly say that I am very jealous of you, Don, and a few others that I know that have gotten to visit with and spend time with Mason. :love0030: I still have the pics he sent me many years ago saved on my computer (from back in the '90's) and wondered just how much the "collections" have grown since then. From the stories from you and others have shared, you all had such a blast visiting Mason. I hope someday that I am doing well enough to travel and want to visit many of the great collecting friends I know!

Someday, I'm going to get all of my sets organized & listed and Mason and I plan to exchange these lists. I know he has stuff that I don't have and I have stuff he didn't have. It will be fun to see what we can do for each other in the sense of at least the knowledge of these rare sets and maybe someday, have all the racing sets ever produced!!! :winking0071:

One can dream, can't one? :whistle:
