View Full Version : Why I hate the rangers
devilfan03 06-21-2003, 09:51 PM This is why I hate the rangers because they are nothing but over-paid , self indulgent weenies with piss poor attiudes who take for granted the coaches that endure all their b1tch1ng and moaning about their own lack of confidence and sportsmanship. This is why everyone should be a devil fan, all in favor say eye.
Enigma 06-21-2003, 09:54 PM I was already a die-hard Colorado Rockies/NJ Devils fan....so AYE AYE!!!!
haybierman 06-21-2003, 10:02 PM Uummmmm. go Flyers. :)
Yeah but I'm not a huge blueshirts fan either.
hockeyrules9911 06-21-2003, 10:34 PM I agree with that. The it seams like the rangers can buy any star player they like and when they get them the player just stops preforming. It's crazy ANY team could do better with the money that the rangers have. Go Canadiens
haybierman 06-21-2003, 11:06 PM Madsion Square Garden is where legends go to die. Kind of like a whale graveyard.
bigl0l8477 06-21-2003, 11:41 PM this is my favorite post ever on this site!!!!
the rangers are turning hockey into baseball. im sick and tired of them spending all that money while the small market teams have to try to build with a small budget. i hope that the strike after next season gets the nhl straightened out, and the rangers have t dismantle their team and start over.
Sexpos2003 06-22-2003, 12:28 AM Rangers = Yankees.
The Flyers is where it's at :)
IggyWH 06-22-2003, 12:31 AM Moved the thread over to the Pro Sports Talk forum.
Anyways... what's this talk about the Rangers trying to get Jagr now? When will the Rangers figure out that just because you have an 80 million dollar payroll that doesn't mean you'll have a winning team?
Enigma 06-22-2003, 12:34 AM The Rangers have continuity on the ice.....and the biggest problem....Glen Sather......the man has a bigger ego than Steinbrenner....I can't NY is big enoguh for both of them.....
podstock 06-22-2003, 12:36 AM oh oh ...at first, when I saw the thread, i thought Molina was going to be throwing a fit
Then I see that you're talking about the hockey Rangers
and not Molina's beloved Texas Rangers
lolol
radioheadfloyd 06-22-2003, 12:37 AM These are the reasons why I hate all NY teams.... ;)
studin 06-22-2003, 02:28 AM Yeah most NY teams have that attitude and swagger.
On a side note Can you believe that NJ didn't sell out game 7!!! That makes me mad. It makes it seem like they don't care anyways.
dtownlions33 06-22-2003, 02:35 AM hahaha i thought we talkin texas rangers not da blueshirts rangers i'm dumb and random

*cough* Yankees win championships and the Rangers don't *cough*
I think what you meant to say was
NY Rangers = NY Mets

Couldn't agree more. Lindros, Bure, now maybe Jagr. Antonio McDyess, Marcus Camby, etc. Their careers have gone down hill when joining the Rangers and Knicks.

bigl0l8477 06-22-2003, 12:51 PM pwaldo,
Rangers = Yankees.
what he meant to say by that is they both are ruining their sport by all the money they throw around. the only difference is the yankees actually do a good job at buying their team
now when he says "the flyers are where its at", the flyers also throw around mad dough and they choke in the playoffs every year. hopefully when the nhl goes on strike and (hopefully) fixes the money problem, teams like the red wings, rangers, flyers, and stars will have to dismantle their teams and build a team like all the ohter low-income teams
RedMania 06-22-2003, 05:32 PM and for that payroll, they suck

I don't get how the Mets are any different than the Yankees.
The Yankees are EVIL because they have a $150 million dollar payroll.
The Mets are LOVEABLE because they ONLY HAVE A $105 million dollar payroll.
I said Rangers = Mets because look at who the Mets brought in Mo Vaughn, Roberto Alomar, Burnitz, and others that are OVERPAID old guys just like the Rangers.
At least most of the Yankees payroll has been to keep players like Jeter, Williams, Andy, Posada, etc.
bigl0l8477 06-22-2003, 06:58 PM the yankees are not the only team like that. you are right about the mets, there is also the red sox and braves. i dont know too much about baseball but i know they are all good at spending alot of money and ruining their sport

Yeah sorry about that.
I kinda forgot that not everybody does watch baseball so they probably wouldn't know.
I only watch a little hockey so I couldn't name the top 5 in payroll either.
Does hockey have a salary cap or can teams just have as much as they want?
bigl0l8477 06-23-2003, 12:27 AM hockey teams, like baseball, can pay as much as they want. there is gonna be a strike after next season and hopefully gary bettmann (the nhl commish) will fix things UNLIKE bud selig.
studin 06-23-2003, 01:36 AM At least us hockey fans will have the World Cup in 2004 to look forward to. I really think its gonna be a long strike.

Yeah strikes SUCK.
The strike in 1994 pratically killed baseball and they got NOTHING DONE.
Hopefully hockey will be able to get something done. Its not fun when you want to see some games played and there's nothing on because of a strike.
bigl0l8477 06-23-2003, 05:34 PM im actually rooting for a strike. if the nhl needs a whole year off to fix all their problems, then i am all for that. i would be a boring year but also worth it.
RedMania 06-23-2003, 05:36 PM they are talking about them on around the horn, it was a debate between texas rangers and new york rangers and who is the bigger disgrace

Well if they do strike I hope they get something done unlike baseball. They were on strike forever and couldn't get anything done.
I don't recall anything good coming out of the strike in 1994.
