The player I collect is Willie McCovey, HOF first baseman of the San Francisco Giants. McCovey was my favorite player on my favorite team growing up; I saw his last home game and last extra base hit at Candlestick Park when I was 9 years old.

I started collecting him in the early 90’s before the explosion of card and I can say with confidence I had a much higher percentage of his cards back then than I do now.

That's a great collection. I remember the first baseball game I ever saw when I was a kid was a replay during a rainout of one of the games he hit two home runs in one inning. Always loved him after that.

Thanks, just got that in today. I have had the white one /250 since 2003 but the gray one was quite elusive. My other big find was the Classics auto /25, been looking to get one of those for years as well.

I bought a couple boxes of Absolute back in the day (one 2002; one 2003) mainly wanting those Signing Bonuses. I still have them somewhere, but they're not as nice as that one. One was an etched glass Mike Schmidt with a piece of his jersey, and I sadly can't even remember the other one, but I think it was an Al Kaline.
