View Full Version : What should I do with my 100s of extra bubble mailers?

Spring cleaning is just around the corner. I've got two full shelves of extra bubble mailers. When you're a set collector who trades for insert and then sends out sets, you tend to accumulate these things.

So what should I do with them?

It seems a waste to recycle them, but I'm not sure if the salvation army would accept a donation.

Shipping them has to be done by the box since its not economical to ship one at a time.

Any advice on what you do with your extras would be welcome! If someone needs some, please contact me! Can be had on the cheap!

Have about 2/3 'small sized' - 12x18 cm (~4.5x7 inches)
and 1/3 'medium sized' - 17x23cm (~7x9 inches)

My breakdown:
1/4 heavily used, 1/2 partially used, 1/4 basically new

Heavily used = full of stamps, paper, customs forms
Partially used = odd stamp or sticker, some writing
Lightly use = light writing, or clear, stamps or stickers removed

I don't know about other members, but I throw out used bubble mailers when they come in. I always send my cars out in new ones.

Same here. Don't really like getting used bubble mailers. Throw used ones out. I bought 300 Bubble mailers for $70 CDN on ebay so I have huge stock of brand new ones.

Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. Its the motto of the new millennium.

In any case, for those wondering, I can fit:
20 medium sized bubble mailers (17x23cm (~7x9 inches)) and
40 small bubble mailers (12x18 cm (~4.5x7 inches))
in a box for 11.15 CAN (5.4 mailers / 1$). (which is the s/h)

MatsSundin13Rocks makes a good point, he can get new ones for a good deal (4.3 mailers / 1$). With Three different sizes

Of course, to the savy SCF trader who both buys, sells and trades, re-using means infinite mailers for free :winking0071:

I got a 100 of each of 3 different sizes and the price included shipping for the 300.

I reuse. I used to have new ones but im out. Reusing is smart for the environment. And its not like i'm sending in a terribly damaged mailer. all about being smart with what you have

I never reuse bubble mailers either, they aren't very expensive and I just have this thing about sending out a used bubble mailer.

I know it's not earth friendly but I just can't bring myself to do it. I feel I do enough other "green" things to offset not reusing bubble mailers anyway.

I always send in new bubble mailers, but my father sells on eBay quite often so I give him the used ones I get and he uses them whenever.

Would anyone in Canada be interested in some?

Canada post says I can send something weighing 3 kg in a 40x40x40cm box for 16$ CAN in Ontario.

If I can pack them that tight, 3 kg would be something like 180 envelopes for 16$ CAN, or 11 envelopes for a 1$.

If you want a quote specific to your postal code, please send me a PM.

Cheers,
reoddai

Depends on how bad the mailer is when you get it - sometimes it's all dirty, it was already re-used before, etc.
