I know that there are a lot of folks who won't touch the last handful of packs in a box. With the pack searchers out there, with the odds against you, so many people just ask for a new box and go with that. Too many horror stories of people grabbing all base packs. Me, I like to defy the odds. I also spit into the wind, cross a black cat's path, and one time I even pulled on Superman's cape. The spitting part didn't work so well, but the pack breaks today...they kinda did. Even though I only need one more card to complete my Black Diamond set, I still like the product and I really need to pump up my traders stock a little bit. So the last four packs it was.

Definitely the best Brodeur card I've ever pulled, and one of my best GU pulls as well.

My luck stood in stark contrast to this poor sap that grabbed a box of UD2. Due to the dollar tanking, it's now $96 for a box. The fella got only 4 YGs, one of which was a dupe, all commons, and didn't get any jersey cards or an Exclusives/HG. To ease a bit of his pain, I traded him all my BD commons for a Collector's Choice Reserve Kovalev and the Kovalev Quest for the Cup from that set. But wow, talk about a kick in the pants.

Ods-killer :) Congrats, sometimes it worth it to take the last packs. I've taken the last packs (okay it was 9) from the 06/07 Ultra and I pulled a Crosby fresh ink. So sometimes you can win with the lastpacks!
