Terry Sawchuk got 30+ his first 5 years, though he did have a 7-game stint prior to his rookie season. That may be what they're talking about.

Edit: Also - Plante did it his first six, and Tony Esposito his first seven, though both again had short call-ups before. Dryden only played seven complete seasons and had 30 wins in each of them, save for the six-game call-up.

that's probably why it's so rare that rookie goalies accomplish this feat. most rookies are usually called up midway through the season or start as the backup. also, lundqvist has the benefit of the shoutouts to give him the Ws. either way, :party0053:

and lundqvist will do this for the rest of his career.
