Do you guys think that their putting '1/1' into the title / description is just an attempt to get more views, or are they actually trying to make people thing that it's more valuable than it really is?

I could see it working to get more people looking @ the card..... but I can't see it working to get a higher sell price.

I know, for myself.... a seller declaring a card to be a '1/1' when its not, is a really quick way to prevent me from bidding on it.

I admit it's a sweet patch but by the same logic every patch/ jersey card is a true 1/1 they all come from different parts lol

I just recieved my Drew Doughty fresh threads patch # 8/25 (his jersey #) and I would not consider it a 1/1. It's cool to have it share the same number as the player but I wouldn't pay more just for the numbering. The seller never listed it anywhere as a "1/1" either which I was actually surprised at because ebay sellers love to through that out there.

We could really go far with this line of thinking. I guess someone could make the argument that any serial numbered card is, in effect, a 1/1.

Suppose a card was limited to a print run of 10. Maybe we should claim that each card is a 1/1 because each serial number is unique! There is only one card #'d 1/10...only one card #'d 2/10...and so on.

Bit of a stretch, but not far from the claims they already make~

It's true. Any serial numbered card is unique. Even if it's numbered out of /7999.... there will be only one card numbered 3756/7999.

It's just an attempt by the sellers to get more people to look @ their auction... and that's it. I know some people who will pay more for the card if it's the first one (i.e. 1/100) the last one (i.e. 100/100) or #ed to the player's jersey number. I would expect any seller to mention one of those features in their title or description. I wouldn't call it a one-of-one.... but I don't think anyone really thinks it is, after looking at the item.
