Antoine Vermette's goal with 2:22 left in overtime sent the Blue Jackets to a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks tonight before 15,190 in Nationwide Arena.
The win allowed the Blue Jackets to match a franchise record with their 80th point of the season.
It also allowed them to solidify their hold on sixth place in the Western Conference. The Blue Jackets, searching for their first spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs, now trail fifth-place Vancouver by three points.
