FINALLY!!! After years of watching ECHL and WCHA hockey live, I finally get to see my first NHL hockey game. My girlfriend and I are heading to Denver, CO to visit my family for about a week (5 year old sisters spring break). My step-dad was able to score us some good tickets. I can only count the days til we leave, I'm super stoked!

I've read the other two threads about there first game experiences, which lead me to start this one. I'm sure theres some Colorado folks around the board that could give me some advice. So far I know to go early, stay for the entire game, and have the time of my life.

T-minus 11 days and counting..... :party0053:

What is this, Christmas? Everyone's got tickets except me. :(

LOL

I remember talking to you a couple months back how you wanted to go to a game badly, I'm glad you finally got your chance. I hope you have a blast and maybe you'll come out with some autographs or something.

Go AVS!

Thanks for the replies. I'm very excited. Get to get out of this cold Alaskan weather and jump right into summer! I checked out the virtual 3D seat section they had on the Avalanche website. Shows where you'd be sitting. From what I know I'm on the side that the Avs attack twice and its only a few rows up. Ahhh.....!!! Can't wait!

mmm i love denver. was a beautiful place. ya gotta head to the ESPN zone in downtown sometime (not sure if it is still there). if it is, ya gotta go!!!

as for the game itself, go early and get food asap if you plan on eating there as lines at games tend to get long as more people file in

Glad to hear you got ticket to your first game man! By the sounds of it you got some good seats. Be sure to take some pics and post your experience. Luckly with those two teams you will see abunch of young guys who are going to be huge (Stastny, Duchene, Turris, Mueller), plus you get to see the great one himself!

Wow! Glad to see this post is still around. I never did get a chance to tell the conclusion of my NHL experience. I still don't have a computer at the moment, been using my iPhone to do all my recent posting. It was definitely awsome. Girlfriend and I had a great time. I only managed to snap a couple pics. I did take a couple pre-game videos of both teams. That was interesting watching them play like a keep away game. Even though the Avs lost it was by far my best time at a sporting event. I plan on seeing more this coming season for sure.

Ohh man by the way Shane Doan has a wicked snap shot!!

If I had known I would have been happy to take you and get you some in-person experiences with the players. Ah well, if you ever come back, hit me up.
