No.
It is well known that the current economic conditions are very difficult for collectors and manufacturers alike.
Unfortunately, for In The Game, this resulted in very disappointing sales for the 2008-09 Between The Pipes.
"Last week I had to make a decision based on the advanced sales of Between The Pipes, whether or not to cancel the release of this product, or not" reported ITG President Dr. Brian H. Price. "I consulted with several distributors, dealers and collectors and determined that this would not be fair to those who wait to collect this product every year. A certain number of autograph cards, game-used memorabilia cards and Masked Men inserts had already been produced. So I decided that rather than cancel or delay the product, I would reduce the number of cases produced and therefore increase the number of inserts in the boxes that had already been ordered."
This means that collectors will find more insert cards (autograph cards, game-used memorabilia cards and Masked Men inserts) than the ratios stated on the boxes.
"Rather than punish our loyal collectors, I decided to reward them." Price said.
Between The Pipes releases March 26th.

I just purchased 2 boxes based on this announcment alone. I like the goaltender theme anyways and this was the icing on the cake for me.

cnshockey 03-23-2009, 07:58 PM sweeet! i may or may not do the future stars autos of this set. if i don't, i plan on picking up a few of those goalies i really want (mainly ersberg, quick, pickard, tokarski, etc)

WOOO! thanks for the AMAZING news barrie! honestly though by the time ultimate comes out, cant UD get a game used jersey from most or not all jerseys? really that hard? wait sorry. im asking for UD to do some hard hard work

IMO, ITG, in my book standing for "In the Garbage", as per where most of the cards I have found there products loaded with end up, would benefit from doing exactly this. Their high end, or even rarer stuff is simply amazing, however way too many filler cards and unspectacular lower end cards are incredibly over produced, especially for a brand that has troubl holding value to begin with. Limiting the overall production would allow their customers to put more value on them, which is the only way I can see them staying in the market.

Well I have to disagree there, but it should be noted I haven't tried their higher end stuff just the H&P, O Canada and BTP. But I've consistently received more gu/auto cards than the stated odds, always received a complete base set in each box, and never had a damaged card... more than i can say about UD.
I wish their card designs were a little fancier and i wish they'd include more inserts. But I might end up changing my order from 1 box to 2 on this news... come'on Simeon Varlamov! ;)
