Cranbrook, B.C. -- The Brandon Wheat Kings have advanced to the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.
Brayden Schenn's goal with less than three minutes remaining in regulation time lifted the Wheat Kings to a 4-3 victory over the Kootenay Ice, completing a four game sweep of their best of seven opening round playoff series.
Schenn's game winning tally came five minutes after Andrew Bailey had scored his second third period goal to even the score at three and it marked the second straight one goal decision in Cranbrook for these two teams. Matt Calvert's overtime goal on Tuesday lifted Brandon to a 4-3 win in game three.

For anyone wondering, the Wheat Kings are my home town team and have 2 players projected to go in the first round this year in Brayden Schenn and Scott Glennie. Schenn currently leads the team in scoring with 4G,4A for 8 PTS while Glennie has 1G, 6A for 7 PTS.
