30ranfordfan 03-27-2009, 02:38 PM Try an offer. I mean, you're not going to get it for less than $100 (probably) but I bet you can knock him down significantly.
Nashrules 03-27-2009, 02:59 PM And the guy has like 6000 feedbacks, so he knows what hes doing.
BTW... i didnt have to even look to know you collected the guy you were upset about a price on. Thats like 90% of the threads about ebay. Prices too high on high end cards for peoples PCs. gotta give to get, folks.
cprince80 03-27-2009, 03:00 PM Thats not the craziest thing ive seen. This one is closer lol Look at the shipping cost aswell.

30ranfordfan 03-27-2009, 03:09 PM That $25 shipping charge from the US to Canada isn't just him. Sellers have been getting screwed by PayPal's buyer protection policy, and that's why they do it.
The $25 cost means you'll have to sign for the package, and I don't think there's a USA-to-Canada option that's any cheaper. Probably this guy has had an instance (or more than once?) where someone claimed he didn't ship an item.... when he really did.... but he couldn't prove it, without the signature on delivery thing. Paypal then makes him pay back the buyer. If the seller has beens screwed over a couple of times already, can't blame him for doing it. Especially on a $600 card.
cprince80 03-27-2009, 03:40 PM I agree you should just make an offer on the card if you really want it. It's a true 1/1 not one of these math miracle one's lol. And it's from the cup so price will naturally be high on it. It's a nice piece for a pc if your in the market for such things. I would gladly pay that much for a CUP 1/1 of lidstrom that wasn't a parallell......well I'd at least make a rediculous lowball offer first haha
Ranfordfan
Wierd that would cost so much. Expresspost costs $13 from canada and it requires sig. I recieved cards from a trader the other day that required a sig I doubt he wouldve paid $25 to ship maybe $40 worth of cards when I sent his regular mail. It could be tracking num that adds extra cost. A few weeks ago I expresspost shipped a 3.5kg item to one of my buyers it cost less than $25
30ranfordfan 03-27-2009, 03:46 PM I could be mistaken. That's just what I've heard from a few Americans, as to why the shipping charges to Canada have (in some cases) gotten so high. Maybe someone (American) on here can correct?
Ray33 03-27-2009, 04:08 PM like nashrules just said "gotta give to get". if I was a Lapierre collector I'd bin that right away. I would assume you will be making a thread praising him as a great ebay seller if he had the bin at $32.99.

Yes, USPS only does tracking in foreign countries on express mail (overnight). which STARTS at $24.99. UPS may offer other options, but it's more confusing/less conveinent to use them.
TeamChevelle 03-27-2009, 05:09 PM I just paid $10 for the shipping of 2 cards(worth $10) after he stated in the description it would be $2. I tried reasoning and asking for regular bubble wrap and a few stamps but no luck.............I guess that is what feedback is for.

I respect your opinion regarding my card that you linked to above - I happen see that I had been getting hits to this card and followed the link to your forum, and joined up and decided to defend myself.
Shipping into Canada is a crap shoot (I hate to say it but it is true) - and YES I have been burned over it! The delivery cost that I charge does give me the peace of mind that "all is well" and that my card has been delivered and received. Would you take the chance with a high $$ value card?? Would you rather that I not ship into Canada as some Ebay sellers have done? Without getting into finger pointing - yes I did have a bad experience shipping into Canada and unfortunately this is my only recourse on high value cards. Please also remember that this card was listed as a best offer and shipping charges can be included in the final value of the sale price.
I hope that this helps and you understand where I am coming from.

I totally agree with you! My friend sent me a package from canada to the US and it never showed up. For a card of that quality, you are smart for wanting to make sure it gets there safe.
and I hope U of M means university of michigan lol
bgggg2001 03-28-2009, 12:13 AM I think if I was gonna put that kind of a price on a card that you might get $100-$150 bucks for in an auction I would put free shipping lol....

cprince80 03-28-2009, 01:17 AM laperierre don't mean to hijack your thread.
bggg2001 that was kind of my point originally before I got sidetracked on shipping costs. I doubt the parallell of that card #/25 would go over $100

You are right and I have updated some of my items to reflect this - Thanks for the help.
The card that has spurred all of this talk about my shipping cost has been traded down the road (with help from this forum??) for a bunch of Yzerman rookies.
laperierre please accpet my apologies and I agree with cprince80 - I (we) didn't mean to hijack your thread.
cnshockey - Yes U of M is for Michigan.....I am a huge football and hockey fan of Michigan and have been for years.
Thanks again
cprince80 03-28-2009, 01:42 PM See! ebay threads don't always lead to evil :)
