Lesracing 04-29-2009, 05:00 AM Here's my little review of my 2 boxes. The first box was somewhat disappointing, but the 2nd box was just junk. Hoping that I got the only bad boxes from the 3 cases we got, but let me know if anyone else had problems as well and I will report the issue to Press Pass.
Heres a break down pack by pack of what I got from my 2 boxes of PP Premium (1-10 left side, 11-20 right side). The first box I did a live box break over the phone with Tony while he was waiting in the airport to catch his flight back from the Hawaii trade show. I was disappointed that I did not pull an auto from this box.
My second box was a major disappointment as it didnt meet the stated odds on inserts, had no r/u or auto and many duplicate/triplicate cards. A junk box!!! Very frustrated, but Im sending the box back to Press Pass and hopefully it will be replaced with one meeting the proper odds.

My thoughts on the product (what I really looked at, lol). Base cards were very nicely done, some of the best in the last few years. Disappointed with all the duplicates and being so far off of completeing a base set. I didn;t see that many of the insert cards so no real thoughts on them at this time. Based on the pictures of cards I've seen posted and on eBay, there were some very nice designs produced. I have seen many of the auto cards on eBay and they look pretty well done, considering they are all sticker autos.
Only real laugh I had was seeing that the "somebody" who placed the auto stickers on the cards didn't know the difference between Travis Kvapil & David Ragan, LOL!!!
Guess I just wait and see what happens but it looks like I'll need to be doing a bunch of trading for this set. No "rating" for this product at this time. Don't really have anything worthwhile to "rate".
Lauriebugg 04-29-2009, 05:25 AM I got 4 boxes so will just do a general run down on pulls.
3 sets to 80 (handful of dupes)
1 set to 90 minus 1 card (82 but coming)
1 extra #90
Win streaks- 2 shy of set- several dupes
NO win streak contest cards
Top contenders- 7 total, 2 dupes (no sp golds)
Zero cards- 2 (no sp golds)
reg auto- 2> Almirola & Kurt Busch
gold auto- 1> Logano 10/25
(one box had no auto in it)
Hot thread xxx/325- 1> stewart
Hot thread xx/99- 2> biffle & harvick(traded)
Hot thread multi- 1> stewart 15/25
hot threads patch - 2> kenseth 02/10 & waltrip 10/10
Signature series- 1> harvick 20/29
All in all I was happy with my boxes as I got above stated pull odds.
3 boxes had 3 auto or ru in them, one only had 1 ru and no auto. 4 1/2 stars for that.
Nice new pics and quality of cards, but with the short prints and golds make it hard for some folks to complete sets and or just driver pulls.
Quality 4 1/2 stars. Coalation 4 stars. Short prints 3 stars.
A big thanks to Les for doing these case breaks for us!
The autos and ru listed above are currently running on the bay for this coming weekend. sorry no pics for here but can be seen on the bay if have interest. My user name on the bay is the same as here.
Thanks!

Overall: I really liked the revamped look of Premium base cards, I think that the inserts are just a little to flashy though. Nice design of the Premium Sigs, not a fan of sticker auto's though I understand the reason behind this onetime. Race -used I think is great also. Liked the idea of the different level in diff colors, something they might need to remember next year for covers in Eclipse.....
Pull ratio's were there, dissapointed in three boxes didn't pull at least one Zero card or Top Contender Gold card.
I give this product a rating of:
Pull ratio 4.8
Design 4.5
Overall 4.65/5 stars
stlmkiiisupra 05-03-2009, 10:41 AM One box.
Carl Edwards Hot Threads Black 162/325
Casey Mears Premium Signatures
Daytona Winner Kenseth 0 card with gold foil (This is the variation?)
Win Streak
Edwards WS2
Earnhardt Jr. WS4
Kahne WS8
Burton WS10
Bowyer WS15
Top Contenders
Harvick TC2
Gordon TC6
No golds? Must be hard to pull. I've seen more gold 0 cards than silver for some reason. I like Premium this year, but I think the patch cards were much nicer last year.
race crazy 05-05-2009, 02:30 AM Results from my One Box and 5 pack break of 09 Premium (as done live in around the track).
My box overall was okay-the overall design of the cards is outstanding-they really pop and i like the holografx-like backgrounds on the inserts and rc's. I also like the numbering for different color levels. Action shots on the cards are the nicest ones in the set-like the speedweeks cards and media day cards-at least to me-i prefer live action shots over studio shots.
So design-4.5/5 for the base and inserts. 4/5 for RU.
Results: got everything I was supposed to in the box and 2 variations in it as well-so i beat the odds-also beat the odds in my 5 pack break by pulling a RU and a RC.
My best pulls from the break.

NYAmped88 06-03-2009, 08:08 AM I can honestly say that my foray back into Nascar card collecting was the most disappointing experience I've ever had. I invested in a box of these cards thinking my chances of getting at least one decent insert were pretty high. Was I ever wrong.
The only inserts I got out of the whole box were:
Kevin Harvick Top Contender
Marcus Ambrose Rookie Debut
Jimmie Johnson Win Streak
Gregg Biffle Win Streak
Jeff Burton Finish Line
I remember now why I don't buy boxes anymore. I'm either stuck paying through the nose on E-bay, or hoping I MIGHT be able to score the Earnhardt Jr. and Truex cards I want through sites like this.
All in all, my take on the whole deal is, even though the base card set is an attractive set, the lack of inserts more than offsets my desire to get anymore boxes and the duplicates make it almost impossible to get a complete set from one box. it was money wasted that I could have just spent on the inserts and cards of the 3 drivers I collect. Hard lesson learned and I won't waste my money on anymore boxes of crap.
kmbarner 06-03-2009, 08:38 AM Hi Bri,
I am very sorry that you were disappointed in Premium.
We try our best to come out with products that you guys will LOVE.
We listen and read all feedback and take any suggestions that you may have. I see that you are disappointed by the lack of inserts and I will let our product development team know this. In any case, were either of the Win Streak cards you pulled the "Victory Lane" contest?
Thanks!

No, neither of the Win Streak inserts were part of the "Victory Lane" series of inserts. The Johnson card is 1/15 and the Biffle card is 14/15.
Here are scans of both cards, front and back:
