Bowman Draft Picks is amazing for set and rookie collectors. With 110 veteran and 110 rookie cards, this set pulls in everyone. Within one box, you can knock out most of the set including the rookies.
The parallels are different from the regular cards only by the surrounding color. The basic red parallel can be confusing to many as the "red" area actually looks brown. Considering what you get in a box, the small number of numbered parallels is not a turn off. If anything, it makes the boxes more appealing.
The inserts focus on the rookies for the most part and that's good, considering this name of the release is Draft Picks. There's a nice mix of individuals and combos (teammates and opponents). Collectors can expect to see an insert three times in every four packs on average. Not a bad set of odds.
Would like to give insight on the autos, but unfortunately both were redemptions. To me, this is unacceptable as a collector. To offer two autos in a box and now I have to do more work in order to receive them is crazy. As a consumer, I should not be expected to jump through hoops and over hurdles in order to get what I paid for. Yes, I know redemptions are a part of the hobby and card companies call them unavoidable. However, I should not see more than one in a box. There has to be a better way. Now I have to wait weeks to enjoy the cards I paid for and should rightfully have in my hands.
Overall, Draft Picks is a wonderful set. With 110 rookies, it shows off many of the future stars of the NFL all in one set. Team and player collectors have a reason to purchase this box and that's a good thing. For college collectors, the Logo Patch cards are great. There's even Lettermen Autos for some of the players. Now if I actually had an auto to look at, life would be so much better.
Once again, thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Topps, for giving us the opportunity to open and review this box. If Interested in more information on this products or others, be sure to check them out at www.topps.com (http://www.topps.com).
